American Idol Aaron Kelly "I Believe I Can Fly" Performance

American Idol's Star from NEPA

Ranee Wright
Aaron Wayne Kelly is from Sonestown, PA a very small town in Sullivan County, PA. I should know I grew up in the same county. As you can imagine, people in NEPA are super star-crazed for American Idol Aaron Kelly.

A print shop opened in Dushore, PA (the only town in Sullivan with a red light) to make Aaron Kelly t-shirts and signs. NEPA is sure to be proud and voting after another great performance by Aaron Kelly on American Idol.

The American Idol theme on April 20 was "Inspirational Songs." Aaron Kelly got a chance to not only meet Alicia Keys but to actually collaborate with her before his American Idol performance.

Aaron chose R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly" a song he has been singing since he was 5 years old. Alicia gave Aaron sound mentoring advice; to sing with a lot of heart and almost be crying at the end. Aaron followed through.

American Idol judges Ellen Degeneres, Randy Jackson, and Kara DioGuardi all really liked Aaron's performance and vocals.

Ellen said it was a tough song and that Aaron did a really great job singing it.

Kara thought it started of kind of slow but picked up speed.

Simon was harsh, as usual and said he would have turned off the radio and was happy it was over.

Come on Simon, why so cruel? There is a better and nicer way to say that the song did not appeal to you.

Aaron Kelly sang "I Believe I Can Fly" just as good as or better than R. Kelly. I agree with the judges that his vocals were spot on.

After tonight's American Idol performance Aaron Kelly deserves to stay on the show - so VOTE America! My elimination prediction is Mike Lynch or Siobhan Magnus.
