American Idol: Adam Lambert is Feeling Good

Adam Lambert Rocks Rat Pack Night

Adam Lambert shut down American Idol's Rat Pack night with his rock infused performance of 'Feeling Good'. Is there any question that he's the next American Idol?

True, Danny Gokey had an amazing performance as well, and for anyone else to follow him it could have been difficult, anyone except Adam Lambert. In fact, it was probably more unfortunate for Danny that Adam followed him, because there's a good chance that a lot of people forgot all about Danny Gokey's amazing performance.

You can say what you want about Adam Lambert but week after week he proves that he's overly worthy of becoming the next American Idol. He not only kills every song and genre that American Idol throws at him, he's entertaining to watch. Jamie Foxx, the honorary mentor for Rat Pack night, was all but speechless during Adam's rehearsal except for saying, "He's gonna knock everybody's head off."

And Jamie Foxx was right. When Adam Lambert glided down the staircase like he owned the stage it caused chills. Simon Cowell even noted that it was the best entrance ever on American Idol and this is because Adam Lambert is more than just a singer, he is a performer; a performer that can even make walking down stairs look amazing.

Randy Jackson called Adam's performance a bit theatrical, but isn't Adam Lambert always theatrical? I'm guessing that this is what makes him interesting. I wouldn't go as far as Paula Abdul did and compare him to Michael Phelps in the Olympics, but it just shows how stunning a performance it was. I'd guess that Adam Lambert's rendition of 'Feeling Good' left everyone feeling good...and a little speechless.

I don't know if I would agree with Simon Cowell either, in that Adam Lambert wants to win and prove a point. I don't think Adam really cares if he wins. He sings and moves and performs week after week like he won a long time ago.

As with all of his performances, "Feeling Good" was unforgettable. I try to remember some of the past American Idols that have won that we forgot won because they didn't have whatever it is that Adam Lambert has. I'd bet my black nail polish that we won't forget his rendition of "Feeling Good" and we certainly won't forget about Adam Lambert.
