We now know the next 3 contestants to make it through to the top 12 on Season 8 of American Idol. It was a nail-biter of a results show in only one respect, but the results are now in. With one more group to go before the Wild Card round, the pressure is off of Allison Iraheta, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert.

That's right folks, we no longer have to wonder about Nick Mitchell making a mockery of American Idol, at least until the Wild Card round. The real fans of American Idol have spoken and sent Nick to wait to see if he is one of the judges favorites, and from the opinion of this fan, he will not be. Simon has already made his feelings clear.

Those who did make it through to the top 12 from the group were not much of a surprise. Adam Lambert, who got a standing ovation from Paula and complimentary remarks from Randy. Oddly, he was compared with Robert Pattinson from Twilight, which I don't see that in the slightest. His performance was good, not great, but definitely better than some of the others were. I can see him going a long way in the contest and possibly winning, just on pure talent, if he can reign himself in some.

Allison Iraheta, the sweet 16 year old contestant who belted out "Alone" during her live performance also made it as the top vote getting female of the week. No one should have been shocked, since she garnered compliments from the judges and was told that she was probably going to be the best performance of the night. Honestly, I think that she was the best of the night, so it would have been a major shock if she had not made it through.

We also have Kris Allen, who absolutely killed "Man In The Mirror" during his live performance. He was definitely a shoe-in to make the American Idol top 12, since he was the best male performer of the night. The judges definitely liked his performance, so if he hadn't made it through on America's votes, he would have been returning for the Wild Card round for sure.

Now that we have 6, we have one more group of 12, then the judges pick their favorites for the wild card. Who will fill the last 3 seats by America? You can never tell, so tune in next Tuesday, March 3rd to see group 3 and vote for your favorites.
