American Idol Comes to Denver

American Idol has been a television favorite for the last several years. It has launched the lucrative careers of singers like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood and actress Jennifer Hudson.

Season 9 is coming soon, and it's time once again for auditions. This summer, American Idol is coming to Denver, so if you've ever wanted a chance to be on the show, it's time to start practicing.

Competition is limited to young adult men and women aged 16-28. Registration will be Sunday, July 12th and Monday, 13th and the auditions will be held on Tuesday, July 14th. According to Fox 31 news, the Idol judges will be here. This event will be held at INVESCO Field at Mile High Stadium.

American Idol first hit the airwaves in June 2002 and has made household names of Judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Host Ryan Seacrest. In Season 8 they added a new Judge, Kara DioGuardi.

While I'm too old for this competition myself, I know a few young people I'd like to encourage to hit the auditions. I'm hoping to get down there to watch, at the very least.

Having enjoyed the local talents for several years, I can attest to the fact that Metro Denver is full of talented people. I don't doubt that quite a few of the finalists will come from our area.
