American Idol: Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert & Alexis Grace

Though it's still early in season eight of American Idol, I've already found my favorites for the top four. Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert and Alexis Grace have risen above the rest, proving why they deserved to be in the top thirteen. All four rocked their Michael Jackson song choices, impressively making them their own, bringing a current sound and feel to each one.

Danny Gokey's raspy, love song voice has a Brian Adams quality to it. His performances are fun and full of life, keeping you entertained. He puts his heart and soul into every song. With a sweet personality that makes you want to take him home to meet your family and a voice you never tire of hearing, Danny is sure to go far in this competition.

Allison Iraheta ranks up there as a hard-core Kelly Clarkson. This sixteen-year-old rock star passionately brings it all to the stage every performance. She knows who she is as a singer and she's not afraid to show it. With a mature sound to her intense voice and a stage comfort beyond her years, Allison will definitely be around in the weeks to come.

Adam Lambert has an amazing voice with a range that is out of this world. His theatrical performances and dramatic facial expressions have an outstanding Gerard Way (of My Chemical Romance) feel to them. He owns the stage the moment he steps out on it, making you feel like you actually bought a ticket to watch him in concert. With ready-to-record vocals and ready-to-tour stage presence, Adam could make it to the end.

Alexis Grace is a little spitfire with a voice bigger than she is. The tone of her vocals has a Haley Nichole Williams (of Paramour) sound to it. Unafraid to take a risk, she shows the dark and dangerous personality hiding in that little body. With her fiery performances and singing that lets it all out, Alexis is a dominating presence that demands to be seen climbing to the top.

With these four contestants competing to be the next American Idol, it's sure to be an excellent season. I wait in anticipation to watch them battle it out as they put it all on the stage for America to see.

    HAHA!!
    You spelled Paramore wrong!
    Plus, I don't like Alexis..
    Kris already won :p

Bad song choice for country week brought her down sooner than expected. The judges are saving their "save" card for Danny, Adam, and maybe Lil. Kris Allen seems to be emerging as a dark horse, as they like to say.

I hate to point this out, but Alexis Grace is gone, and we aren't even down to the final 8 yet.
