American Idol Eliminations as Boring as This Season's Contestants

American Idol Top 24 Eliminations Brings Little Excitement to Season Nine

Mary Zeiher
The American Idol eliminations were last night and four of the Idol wanna-be's were sent home. America voted for the best of this year's American Idol contestants and over 24 million people cast their votes. I'm really surprised that many people wanted to vote at all considering the lack of talent of this year's American Idols.

It has been discussed that Simon was particularly harsh to this group of American Idols. Well, I think it may have been because this group is just not as talented as prior years of American Idols. We unfortunately have to face the fact that there is not a single singer on that American Idol stage this year that comes even close to the level of talent of an Adam Lambert.

The first person to be eliminated from American Idol last night was Janell Wheeler. She never should have tried to sing Heart's "What About Love." The song was just too much for her. She sang it again last night and it was smirch better, but still not anywhere near where it would really need to be for her to be a contender on American Idol.

Next on the American Idol elimination rounds is Ashley Rodriguez. So even though Ashley just completed her studies of voice at Berklee College of Music that did not help her with her rendition of "Happy" on American Idol. The 22 year old is now returning to Chelsea, Massachusetts.

Joe Munoz was the next American Idol elimination. For a moment I thought to myself , "Who?" Even though has a decent signing voice he picked a terrible and utterly forgettable song of Jason Mraz "You and I Both" and we just simply never got to know Joe at all. Sorry about that Joe.

The surprise elimination, at least for me, was Tyler Grady, the 70's rocker dude. He sang "American Woman" the other night and I thought that he rocked it out. But evidently America, and those pesky American Idol judges, didn't agree with my opinion.

I am stunned, totally stunned, that Alex Lambert and John Park are still in the running for American Idol. This alone makes this the worst Idol season that I have ever known. They were both terrible on American Idol Guys night but yet they remain. Of course we already the voting habits of America and how American Idol report them are a little bizarre. Just think back to last year and how Adam Lambert came in second to Kris Allen.

Enough said.

I think Adam should come on 'Idol' more than once. He could mentor, and perform. I wish he would take over Simon's spot as the new judge next year. He could still tour and make CD's. I do loke Casey James this season. I think he is going to get better, and better. He has that hot Adam 'it' thing going for him.

I saw Adam in NYC too and omg he was amazing. I have not seen anyone like him in a long time. Great vocal great performance. Adam is such a star. Can't wait to see him again. Oh I also gave up on American Idol. After Adam its over for me.

Adam Lambert was the best ever. The judges knew Adam was going to be a hugh star and when Kris won I realize the show is a popularity contest and not a singing contest. I saw Adam live with Kris and Allison in NYC and Adam was amazing and Allison is very good and kris is good for a collage pub. Adam was the entire show. He was great.

They found Adam Lambert and now no one can compare. The voting system is flawed and when Adam Lambert was the best performer to hit that idol stage and did not win I knew that I would not watch the show again. They gave the title to a average joe when they had Adam who was the obvious best singer. The show is over for me

I think it is 24 mil VOTES were cast, not people watching. As we know from last season, one person can vote mega times. I think the viewers are way down this year. It is so bad and boreing this year! Chris and Alison were great and Adam will be the mega bonus.

I agree that this year's show seems more boring and even Simon seems to be just going through the motions.

The best part of the show was Kris Allen's performance. Kris always pours his soul into whatever he sings. The contestants can learn a lot from him. He, Adam & Allison should go back on the show as mentors to show them how it's done.

I think I might have seen one half of a show of American Idol. I find the whole thing ridiculous!

There's definetly something lacking this year, knowone's going to stand out like Adam, the moment I heard and saw Adam I was hooked on him. Simon appears to be frustated waiting for someone to hit it out of the ballpark, I like Ellen, I think she's doing a good job of critiquing, but there doesn't seem to be good dynamics going on between the judges.

In everyone's minds is Adam Lambert's performances and no one can top that artistry and magnetism he brought to the show
