This week on "American Idol" Jacob Lusk got his walking papers. Although Lusk has a very distinguishing
voice it wasn't enough to keep him in the singing competition. He had many weeks of weaker (thank the others) performances and there is no denying that it was past his time to go.
Many fans speculate that Lusk should have went home weeks ago, but last night they made it happen. The 23-year-old resides in Compton, California and it's not stretch of the imagination to say it was still sad to see him leave. It always is, even when you want them to go. No one likes to see dreams crushed. I certainly don't. But that's part of the game.
Scotty McCreery, James Durbin, Lauren Alaina, and Haley Reinhart make up the top 4 So is going to win? Will it be country artists Scotty or Lauren? They have a very good chance of winning. Lauren all too often lets her fear hinder her performance, so if she goes home soon that will be why.
Or what about potential jazz singer Haley Reinhart, can she win? I don't think she'll win. Her voice is distinct, but so were many (MANY) previous season castaways, and they went home. Remember Megan Joy Corkrey? She had the same type of voice as Haley, to me she had an even better voice, but she went home. Being most distinct doesn't win the game.
What about rocker James Durbin? Will he be able to stop the water works and pull it all together? He has a good chance, along with Scotty and Lauren. Depending on next weeks theme, it could be Haley's turn to go home next. Guess we'll have to wait and see!

Post a CommentSending Jacob home was long over due. So, mathematically speaking, it all depends on who goes home next week. If Lauren goes home, her votes will all go to Scotty, and without a split Country vote, that should carry him through to the finals and he'll win. If Haley goes home then her votes will probably go to James and that should carry him through to the finals and he'll win. I don't see either Scotty or James going home next week - they're both too popular all on their own. I've said it for a long time now and I still think that our winner will be Scotty. Of course, I'll probably never buy an album of his or for that matter one by James, but I'd buy one by Haley or Casey.
