American Idol - Final Line Up Revealed

It is no longer a mystery - the top 12 performers vying for the title of "American Idol" have been chosen. After the wold card round where eight singers performed Jasmine Murray, Matt Giraud, and Megan Corkley round out the top 12 ...but wait there's more. A Big surprises - the top 12 will be the top 13 with Anoop "Noop Dog" Desai as the last man in.

Since the early seasons of the show there has been an equal number of guys and girls in the final 12. This season the guys will outnumber the girls; eight guys and five girls.

As the singers learned of their fate Simon cowell told Jesse that she nearly made it in. Paula informed Von Smith that although he didn't make the cut, she had no doubl that Von would be a recording artist. This season's "drama queen" Tatiana del Torro babbled during her intro tape and again after she sang. She also has managed to pick up an accent over the past couple of weeks. Although the judges agreed that del Torro can sing, she chose to perform a song she had performed on two previous occasions, something Simon does not like. Del Torro's reason for singing the Whitney Houson song three times is because she really liked the song. Del Torro admitted the reason after claiming she couldn't clear a better song and Simon called the reason rubbish.

Anoop Desai also performed a song he had sung before - "My Peragotive" - the judges agreed Desai did a much better job the second time around.

As the show ended host Ryan Seacrest announced that Kanye West and Kelly Clarkson would apper next week but nothing was mentioned about themes or possible "mentoring".
