American Idol Finalist, David Archuleta, Returns to Utah

Thousands of screaming fans greeted the famed Murray High School Graduate as he returned home to Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday to greet his fans. With a tight schedule and police escorts only seen at the 2002 Olympics in Utah, Archuleta was covered by secret service like security.

With thousands of screaming girls in wait, Archuleta seemed more like a pop superstar than an American Idol Contestant.

As David Archuleta entered the Gateway Shopping Complex in a large black stretch Limo, crowds cheered "DAVID, DAVID, DAVID", as he peeked his head out the roof of the limo and then exited and mingled with the thousands lining the streets of the Gateway Center gathered to peek a glimpse at Utah's Own American Idol.

With his mother by his side, he eagerly signed autographs, and looked amazed as he gazed out on the massive crowd from the ATT Stage realizing that this Utah boy was now a National Hero.

Reporters from around the world converged on Salt Lake City as David Archuleta returned. Fox News had a confidential tip that David would be coming up the escalator, so we immediately followed suit.... and they were right.

Tonight David will sing the national anthem as the Utah Jazz take on the Los Angeles Lakers and then it's back to Los Angeles for more American Idol Fever.
