American Idol on Fox - March 28, 2006 : A Bad Night for Many

Lisa opened tonight with "Because of You," by Kelly Clarkston. Lisa's opening certainly wasn't a great show starter. She seemed to be pitchy and off key in many areas of the song. Sorry folks, it just wasn't Lisa's best performance, and I'm afraid it just may have costed her, but we'll find out tomorrow night.

Up next was Kellie singing "Suds in a Bucket," by Sarah Evans. Randy was right - the excitement in Kellie's voice didn't show. Kellie will remain one of my favorites, but her song choice tonight may have just landed her in the bottom three for the first time. She missed her spark tonight - definitely not the best choice for her.

Before Taylor took the stage tonight, Seacrest pointed out a 10-year-old boy in the audience with gray hair. Taylor's advice to the boy was, "don't let em' dye it." And that's why Taylor still has his gray hair, he didn't "let em' dye it." Thumbs up for Taylor!

On to Taylor's performance…I think Taylor done a good job when he sang "Trouble." At least he performed better than the three before him did. Randy, on the other hand, told Taylor it wasn't a great song for him, because it didn't let him "get going." Randy must enjoy watching Taylor's dance moves, but I guess in a way we all do. Even though Taylor may not have the best dance moves it is entertaining to watch.

Wow, even Mandisa had a rocky start! She chose to sang "Wanna Praise You", also known as "The Shackles," but she failed to "wow" the judges with her song choice.

Paris stood out the most, she managed to liven everyone up with "Work it Out." All I can say about Paris's performance tonight is, IT WAS GREAT! The best I think I had heard tonight!

Elliott ended the show tonight with "I Don't Want To Be," by Gavin DeGraw. Not a bad performance, however, his song choice, in my opinion, didn't fit his style.

What was wrong with everyone tonight? Very few done well and it seemed like none of them performed at their best. I think I can honestly say, tonight's American Idol was the worst I've ever seen. Tomorrow should be very interesting. As a matter of fact, I'd love to see who gets the most votes, but they'll never tell.
