American Idol Guys Night Boring but Still Shows the Next American Idol
The Next American Idol Will Be Lee Dewyze!
Who of American Idol Guys Night was truly terrible? I'll start with the most painful performance of the night and that was young Alex Lambert. His name is the only thing that makes him anything like the phenomenal American Idol star Adam Lambert. Alex was nervous and it showed so badly that he came across as stiff and really unable to perform. It was just painful to watch.
Andrew Garcia was a major disappointment as he closed the show with an acoustic song that was just terrible and did nothing to help him on Idol. Another mess last night on American Idol was John Park who tried to sing "God Bless the Child" and I just had to turn the channel, it was horrible and may mean that he goes home.
Who was boring and forgettable on American Idol Guys Night? Tim Urban attempted One Republic's "Apologize" and it was so squeaky at points that I had to cover both mine and my dog's ears. Tim is cute and that will probably keep him alive on American Idol. Very young at 16 years old is Aaron Kelly who tried to sing "Here Comes Goodbye" but it felt more like a lounge act that any real star-power.
Michael Lynche tried hard to bring up the mood of the evening with his rendition of Maroon 5's "This love." I love the song but again, Michael's version was just totally forgettable. Also forgettable was rocker Tyler Grady doing "American Woman" and Todrick Hall doing his boring version of "Since U Been Gone." There was nothing to excite American Idol Guys night from these guys.
Who was actually good on American Idol Guys Night? There were only two in my opinion and I think one of them may be the next American Idol.
Casey James took on the Bryan Adam's song "Heaven" with his guitar in hand and his golden locks down for the evening. Kara was 100% correct when she said that he was "...eye candy". He is just gorgeous and that will appeal to the masses that vote on American Idol. He can sing too and he appears to genuinely be a pretty nice guy, and American Idol loves nice guys....hence, last year's American Idol winner Kris Allen.
The real winner of the American Idol Guys Night was Lee Dewyze! He did a marvelous job of singing Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars." Simon thought that this was the "best performance" and that Lee Dewyze is a naturally good singer. I totally 100% agree with Simon, which almost never happens. I definitely believe that Lee Dewyze has vast potential and will grow each week as we watch American Idol and come into his own style and I do think that the next American Idol is Lee Dewyze.
We will wait and see who will be the next American Idol.

Post a CommentYawn - what a difference a year makes. Last year I recorded the show so I could watch Adam's performances again; this year I record because I keep falling asleep. Maybe it will get more exciting as the season goes on - if not at least I'll be well rested.
Adam Lambert has set the bar so high that all contestant look pale in comparission. Adam has single handedly killed the show. There will never be another Adam Lambert and this might make people loose interest in the show. Adam was the most exciting performer in Idol history.
