American Idol - the Guys Perform

Secrets Revealed

It's the guys' turn tonight, and their performance will determine who makes it into the final six among the guys. Not only did they battle for the final six tonight, but they also revealed secrets. And first up was Gideon. He revealed that when he isn't singing, he's painting. I thought he looked like an art person.

Kevin sung his song choice beautifully tonight, and personally, I found it very touching. Paula and Randy also thought he done well, but Simon, on the other hand, still wasn't satisfied with Kevin's performance. Although, did you notice, this time Simon didn't say, "but I like you, Kevin."

Bucky revealed that he has a twin named Rocky. Honestly, I like Bucky as a person, but I'm not a big fan of his singing. The main reason I'm not a big fan of Bucky's is because he takes the songs and sings them in another version. For example, tonight he took a country song and made it into a rock version. Now, if he'd actually performed the song in its original version, I probably would have liked it more.

It's not just Bucky though, I'm not big on any artist that does this. In my opinion, it ruins a good song. Another example is the song "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing," by Aerosmith. I don't like the country version of "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" at all; Aerosmith's rock version is a whole lot better.

Now my husband told me that Bucky doesn't change the version of the songs, he says it's just the way he sings it. My husband may be right, but the way I hear it, it sounds like he changes the version of the songs. No matter what it is, I'm just not a Bucky fan - sorry.

I have to agree with Randy and Simon on Will's performance, it wasn't good. Randy and Simon both told why they disliked it, and now I'll tell why I disliked it. To me, the song didn't sound at all like the original.

On to my favorite among the guys…Before his performance, Taylor revealed his big secret - he use to be the Easter bunny, but now he says, "my bunny days are over." Shucks, he was cute as a bunny! But after hearing his performance tonight, and also, after seeing the audience's reaction, I believe, in his own words, his bunny days are over, and his singing career is just starting.

I like Taylor, and I'm a huge fan, but Elliott can sing circles around him. Even though tonight may not have been one of Elliott's best song choices, he did manage to pull it off.

The guys all done a great job tonight, and that's going to make the voting process tough. However, it will make for a very interesting show tomorrow night. Remember, I don't cover Thursday night's American Idols, because I cover Survivor instead. I would love to see American Idol's elimination shows, but I guess I can't unless they change the time to 9:00 p.m. Central time. Why 9:00 p.m.? Because my hubby has to see CSI, and he puts up with all my reality shows, so I at least owe him that one.
