American Idol Has Emotional Night Getting to Top 12
American Idol Only Has One Real Surprise on Emotional Elimination Night
Let's start by re-capping what wasn't really much of surprise about the American Idol evening. Katelyn Epperly went home last night. Katelyn attempted to sing Carole King, not an easy task even for some one with a boat-load of talent, and she just failed miserably. It was no surprise that America did not vote for her, she never seemed to find her personal style for American Idol.
Another American Idol no-surprise moment came with the exit of Todrick Hall, the only thing I was surprised about was that he lasted as long as he did on American Idol. His performances have been mediocre at best each evening and he did not have a shot at being the next American Idol.
It seemed to be a big surprise that Alex Lambert was voted off American Idol last night. Alex is the guy who admitted to being so nervous that he would get sick before performing. He never really got comfortable to all on the American Idol stage and it was painful watching him at times. But none-the-less his dismissal brought he young man to tears and again it was painful to watch him.
The one real surprise of the American Idol evening was when Katie Stevens was selected to stay and Lilly Scott was sent home. Katie from Connecticut has not had a good run on Idol and Lilly has a unique sound and style. What were all those American Idol voters thinking? As Lilly said, "I don't know what America wants to hear." Neither do I Lilly, neither do I. Lilly Scott should have stayed.
Meanwhile last night a couple of last years alumni came back to entertain American. Matt Giraud and Scott McIntyre took to dueling pianos and belted out Elton John's "Tell Her About It". I can only hope that Elton wasn't watching. Seeing them perform again just reinforced why neither one of them won American Idol last year. I can't wait for Adam Lambert to rock the American Idol stage again. I guess they are keeping the best for later in the season.
One other comment on American Idol overall, why do they make the people that are leaving sing again? These poor people have been given their walking papers by America, why put them through the humiliation of singing the song that got them kicked-off American Idol? It doesn't make sense to me.
The American Idol Top 12 are:
Didi Benami
Crystal Bowersox
Lacey Brown
Lee Dewyze
Andrew Garcia
Casey James
Aaron Kelly
Michael Lynche
Siobhan Magnus
Paige Miles
Katie Stevens
Tim Urban

Post a CommentWow - you think Matt Giraud proved why he didn't win, yet you think Adam Lambert should return? Ha - enough said. Matt rocked it and doesn't have to screech or throw his sexual preference in our face to do dso. SNAP.
Yeah, no joke. Anyone who is writing an article about music should know that Billy sings "Tell Her About It" and NOT Elton. Also, they were amazing - Matt Giraud especially showed that he knows how to perform and belt out a great hit and keep it real. Well done to both! You definitely need to proofread your article before you post it on the web...wow.
