American Idol: Janell, Ashley, Joe and Tyler Are Sent Home

American Idol Hopefuls Come to the End of the Road

Kirby Rooks
Ryan Seacreast starts the show by introducing the Top 24 singing "Its Your American Boy". A very blah choreography and down right boring tune. Not very memorialble as Simon would say to the contestants.

Speaking of Simon, Ryan acknowledges that America is talking and all a buzz about how tough Simon has been. Simon responded that it is his job to guide and direct these singers honestly.

A Harsh Reality Beckons- Elimination

"It's a harsh reality that someone has to go home tonight" says Ryan Seacreast and the girls are first on the block.

Janell Wheeler the First to Go

Janell goes home to continue selling wine. The Heart song "What About Love?" proves to be to big a song for Janell as her anemic performance Tuesday night gets her voted off the show. A really nice looking blonde who has a pretty voice just picked the wrong song which the judges continually warn them about.

Allison Iraheta

Allison Iraheta sings her new single "Scars". As always the lovely Ms. Iraheta does a magnificent job and show us her new rocker style.

Happy Does in Ashley Rodrequiz

Ashley Rodrequiz who sang "Happy" goes home unhappy as she edges out Didi Benami, who cries about everything, for elimination. Ashley is another in a long line of Hispanic singers that get the boot on American Idol. She thanks her family for standing behind her and dedicated her final song to them.

Ellen DeGeneris tells the girls they should be proud of their accomplishments and realize its not the end but the beginning somewhere other then American Idol.

Joe Munoz is Wrongly Eliminated

The boys are now ready for the axe and America sends Joe Munoz the young Hispanic home early in the competition. It should have been Tim Urban who was eliminated then given a second chance when another contestant who made the Top 24 is booted for breach of contract. It seems like Americans are not into the Latin sounds, but Joe was not that bad. Tim Urban was bad, America you got this one wrong.

Kris Allen Season 8 American Idol

Kris sang "Let It Be". The performance is available on iTunes and 100% of the proceeds go to Haitian Relief. Kris sings a very touching renditionof this popular Beatles song after having returned from Haiti where he toured the devastation left by an earthquake last month. Kris definitely shows why he was last years winner as he is a very accomplished musician and singer.

Tyler Grady Eliminated

Jim Morrison's clone Tyler Grady is sent home. The 70's style rocker goes home after a week rendition of "American Woman". He sings his swan song after dissing the panel for not leading and guiding him properly.

Overall I would say America batted .750 tonight only making one mistake. Not a bad way to start Season 9 for American Idol.

I couldn't agree with you more about Tim Urban vs. Joe Munoz, but I was shocked that Ashley Rodriguez would get the boot over Katy, who was so off-key that it was embarrassing. The Lizard King wasn't totally incorrect about the advice coming too late in the game. Kara was telling him how "cool" he was during his audition; I think he started to believe the hype. Overall, I want Angela Martin back!
