American Idol Judges Use Save for Matt Giraud

Last night's American Idol saw the judges finally pull out the save. It was well spend on a deserving contestant, Matt Giraud. I know it's getting tougher each week for the voting public, but I just didn't understand why he was the bottom vote getter. He gave a great performance Tuesday night. As it would turn out he had to do that performance again, and sing for his life. His version of "Have You Every Really Loved A Woman" was outstanding. He added his own little bits to the song, which is always encouraged. I will have to say that it was not as good as when Chris Daughtry did the same song a couple of years back.

It is sad to say but I think Matt is being overlooked by the voting public because of the Adam's and Danny's in the group. He is having to perform in the shadow of a growing fan base for these artists and isn't really being given a fair shake each week.

If the voting public would put all preconceived opinions aside and listen to each performance and evaluate them for what they are, you wouldn't find Matt or Anoop for that matter in the bottom 3 each week.

Nevertheless, that is how it goes, a group gets behind a particular artist and they can do no wrong. Myself personally, I have had enough of Adam. If he is such a super star, then vote him out like Chris Daughtry was and see if he can make it. I seriously doubt it. He has said so himself, that he has been around for years trying to get a deal or a break and just couldn't. He is just too out there for me.

If you really want to know at this point who stand any hope at all of being the next American Idol it would be, Danny, Kris, or Matt.

On with the show. Next week is Disco week and there will be a double elimination, I assume due to the judges using the save this week. It will be interesting to say the least. You will probably see Lil pull out a Donna Summers number, or maybe we could get someone to do Hot Chocolate's "You Sexy Thing". Any way it goes it's sure to be a blast.
