American Idol Kicks Off Season 10th with January 19th-20th Premiere
First Two Shows Air New Jersey and New Orleans Auditions
The much-anticipated tenth season of "American Idol" will open with a two-night season premiere on January 19th and 20th. The reality television series and singing competition will present a pair of two-hour season openers on Wednesday and Thursday this week, featuring a brand-new panel of "American Idol" judges.
The first two nights of "American Idol" will show highlights (and likely low lights) of the singing competition's early auditions in New Jersey and New Orleans.
"American Idol" tryouts in East Rutherford, New Jersey, took place at the Izod Center. Constantin Maroulis (a finalist in "American Idol" Season 4) showed up with Ryan Seacrest to meet and sing with new wannabees and is likely to be seen in video clips during this year's season premiere.
Rumor has it that Batman's Joker may have showed up for "American Idol" in New Jersey as well, or at least a likeness of the late Heath Ledger's character.
The New Orleans auditions, held at the Louisiana Superdome in the home state of "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson (and former judge Ellen DeGeneres), represented the third stop on the show's tryout tour. However, New Orleans will be featured on the second night of "American Idol" Season 10.
New Orleans, known as "The Big Easy" and home to the annual Mardi Gras festival, boasted a wild assortment of costumed contestants for this season's "American Idol," so video clips from these tryouts will likely be colorful.
New "American Idol" judges pull up chairs for Season 10 competition.
Randy Jackson is the only returning "American Idol" judge, hanging in there after the departures of Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres last year. The 20-year music industry veteran (as musician and producer) may be expected to take the helm at the "American Idol" judges table.
New judges include singer and actress Jennifer Lopez (J.Lo), rocker Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) and music industry executive Jimmy Iovine (Jimmy Iovine's clients at Interscope Geffen A&M Records have included Eminem, Lady Gaga, Dr. Dre, U2, Sheryl Crow, The Black Eyed Peas, Mary J. Blige, Nelly Furtado and No Doubt).
Ryan Seacrest, "American Idol" emcee, will also be back for Season 10.
"American Idol" moves to Wednesdays and Thursdays for Season 10.
A new schedule is in place for the tenth season of "American Idol." Previously airing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays on Fox TV, "American Idol" is moving back one day for the 2011 competition broadcasts.
Starting January 19, 2011, "American Idol" will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays (beginning at 8 PM (EST). Once the roster of finalists is announced, the traditional pattern will be recreated on these new nights - with audition performances on Wednesdays and results revealed on Thursdays.

Post a CommentIs there a way to sign up for auditions on the internet? I would really love to tryout
You see, I tried out for American Idol season 10 in New Orleans, but I did not make it because I was too young. I'm 16 years old. When I started singing the producers mouth dropped, but I have too admit, best experience of my life.. A group of us were recorded singing billionaire.. I hope it is on (:
Soory I know I'll get a lot of grief but I can't stand Jennifer Lopez; all her singing sounds the same so I don't think she best to judge.
I won't be watching anymore. I just no longer believe in the show.
good job on this, many are looking forward to it I'm sure :)
