American Idol Likely Winner Crystal Bowersox is Good Because She's Real

Ryan Seacrest Did the Exact Right Thing!

Crystal Bowersox simply began doing what she does, from the first audition, to the first Hollywood show, and consistently, with every performance since. A. I. has become the quickest way to stardom in the music and entertainment world in the U.S. during since it's inception in 2002 and naturally draws every young person who "wants" to be the next famous pop star. The fame of the show and it's ability to throw the top final performers into the nation's living rooms for prime time, top rated show viewings, puts an incredible stress on the contestants. Some are more capable of handling it, most likely through not really understanding it all. Others, who take life more seriously and are there because either someone else prodded them to audition or to help their family income, will find it harder to deal with the fame and entertainment microscope.

Bowersox is obviously there to make a better life for her family but also has some life realities that make her own personality more real. She is dealing with life issues that make her more aware of the seriousness of life. This is what gives her the awareness to perform what comes from within. Her natural "gift" takes over from there. She is just fortunate to have been given a "gift" of musical talent. That, combined with her look at what everything in her life really means, is what makes the whole fast paced path of American Idol, so much harder to deal with. This is also, most likely, the reason she wanted to just end it all and go home, because she missed her family.

Ryan Seacrest did exactly what was needed to be done. Realizing the importance of family to Crystal, he made her realize that she already has a gift that can change forever the life that her family lives and that she was being given another gift - the opportunity to make this actually happen.

Bowersox does not arrogantly dismiss advice from the judges, she takes it in, but only applies it to her performances IF she feels and knows that it helps her. She has what it takes to be able to tell the difference. Most other top finalists are usually there to be successful...period. Therefore, they have no inner voice telling them how to use their "gift" if they indeed even have one.

There is no doubt that the whole American Idol experience will only help add to the confidence and performance ability of any talented artist. Crystal Bowersox will win this year, and even if she does not, she will have gained the experience to do what she truly loves in a big way. If she keeps this same levelheadedness about it all, she will provide a happy life for herself and her family for years to come.

Good job Ryan, for making Crystal see why she is there and why she must continue, if only to show herself how to handle life when it gets difficult. As it has often been said, If you find something you love and do well, and find a way to make money from it, success will only be an after effect.

I hear you Michael, but Bowersox does have that appeal to the younger voters...and as I said...in the end, she will win out with a great career, whether she wins AI or not. Thanks for reading and commenting!

Remember a few years ago, everyone was saying that Melinda Dolittle was definitely going to win, and she definitely lost out at 3rd place. Like Bowersox, she was older, had experience performing, but she didn't appeal to the teenyboppers who wear out their phones dialing.
