"American Idol:" Lil Rounds is Gone and Anoop Desai, Too (Boo Hoo Hoo)

The 5 Musketeers Remaining Are (in the Order of Excellence): Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey, Allison Irahita, Kris Allen and Matt Giraud

Connie Wilson
Lil is gone, and Anoop, too.

And did that really shock you?

If "three's the charm," Anoop must go

But all the rest remain, though.

So shed a tear for the Idols gone

They've sung their final songs.

Let's cross our fingers for the very last girl

(Though her outfits may cause us to hurl.)

Allison deserves to stick around

But her crowd appeal has gone to ground.

Adam seems best and Danny's a fave

While teen-age girls still give Kris a rave.

But Matt is probably circling the drain.

(I hope this verdict doesn't cause him strain.)

He's been "saved" once before; now it's too late

So, get ready, Matt, 'cause they'll give you the gate.

[*And a final non-rhyming note for Allison: You need a support staff for (a) wardrobe and (b) helping you to project a personality, or you'll be gone before Matt.]

Also appearing on the show on April 22nd were former disco stars of yesteryear (Thelma Houston, Roberta Hays, K.C of K.C. and the Sunshine Band) which was just sad, sad, sad.

The choreography that Paula provided for the group dance went well. Paula looked exceptionally fine this night, and was given a huge bouquet by the contestants, to thank her for choreographing their group dance.

Danny was without his glasses, again. I hate Danny's glasses, so this is a good thing.

David Archuleta appeared and sang a song from his new album and said he was going to the UK on tour with Demi Levado. I was a David Archuleta fan last year and thought he would win, and it was nice to see and hear him again.

My favorite moment of the night? Matt Giraud, as the program kicked off, saying with childish glee, "I just downloaded myself as a ring tone."

Matt Giraud downloaded himself as a ringtone on his cell phone. Old disco singers don't fade away...they just return on Disco Night making us pine for their younger selves.
