American Idol Live Results Show - Wednesday, March 4

Three Contestants into the Top 12 and Eight Wildcards Announced

Barb Hickey
Tonight's show kicked off with the twelve contestants in Group 3 singing a rendition of Katy Perry's "Hot And Cold." Breaking from the Idol tradition of announcing a group of people and then taking a commercial break, Lil Rounds was the first contestant asked to stand and was immediately told she made it into the Top 12. Then, going back to the typical format, five contestants were asked to stand and were told that one of them is in the Top 12. Seeing the five of them standing side by side, it was easy to guess that the next contestant announced was Scott MacIntyre. In the end, Ju Not Joyner and Jorge Nunez were the last two standing and the judge's favorite, Jorge, made it into the Top 12.

Lil, Scott and Jorge join Kris Allen, Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert and Michael Sarver in the Top 12 leaving three wildcard spots open.

Next, the judges announced their wildcard picks explaining that they are the contestants from the last three weeks that they want to give a second chance to perform because they either choose the wrong song or were in a really tough group. All of the contestants from Groups 1, 2 and 3 were waiting upstairs as their names were announced one by one. And, here are the wildcard picks of the judges: Von Smith, Jasmine Murray, Ricky Braddy, Megan Corkery, Matt Giraud, Jesse Langseth, Anoop Desai and the shocker, Tatiana Del Toro, who did not disappoint with her tears when stepped on stage. The eight wildcards will have one more chance to perform for America and prove they should make it into the Top 12.

The American Idol wildcard show will air tomorrow night at 8:00 PM EST.

I, also, wrote on tonight's results, but I had a few more observations about Tatiana and Adam Lambert. Check it/them out.
