American Idol May 19 Elimination Results. Casey James Voted Off; Top 2: Lee DeWyze & Crystal Bowersox in Finale

Elimination results on American Idol 2010 Season 9. Wednesday, May 19, 2010. The judges are Randy Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres, Kara DioGuardi, and Simon Cowell. The host is Ryan Seacrest. The outsider performers tonight are Justin Bieber and Travis Garland. Last night, the Top 3 contestants- Crystal 'Mommasox' Bowersox; Casey James; Lee DeWyze- each sang two songs: a song of his own choice and a song chosen by the judges. Who will be in the finale next week? Who was voted off the singing competition and will be going home?

With the Top 3 seated on stools center stage, host Ryan asked the threesome about their coming this far in the contest. The trio talked about the hard work. Casey said he had not expected to come this far and had never pictured winning. Lee says he wants to win more than ever at this point. Crystal said it would be nice to win. She called this the homestretch.

Ryan asked Randy to give an opinion about the Top 3. Randy responded that Lee had overcome his shyness. He thought that Crystal and Casey have grown immensely. Crystal- and Lee- commended the judges on their criticisms, good and bad. Casey grinned from ear to ear. When asked what he was thinking, he said that not everything that was said was usable. Then it was time for the Ford music video ad- the three jingled "I'm a Wild One." And then there were clips from the Top 3's hero welcome home to their respective hometowns.

American Idol 's Casey James reached Fort Worth, Texas amid fans' wild screams. He kept shouting his thanks. Casey has no girlfriend. So he's up for grabs. In his limo, as girls chased it, he swore out of amazement- his mouth censored by the American Idol logo. He visited the hospital where his life was saved after an accident a few years ago.

Up Next: Travis Garland performed 'Believe'. In the audience were all this year's American Idols and Perez Hilton, who discovered Travis, online no less. It reminds me of a parent indulging his not-so-talented kid.

American Idol 's Crystal Bowersox took her hero's welcome in her Ohio hometown, Toledo. The mayor gave her a key to the city. There was a family barbecue. The day was pronounced Crystal Bowersox day. Crystal performed one of her original songs. Back on the Idol stage, she broke down with emotion.

American Idol 's Lee DeWyze took his hero's welcome in Chicago, Illinois. And went to Wrigley Field for a Cubs game. When a woman introduced him in an auditorium as 'What a guy, what a man, what an American Idol', Lee was very emotional. At an outdoor venue, he sang Simon & Garfunkel's 'The Boxer'. His voice broke with emotion as he sang and then addressed the crowd. Back on the show, on the Idol stage, he thanked his parents, who were in the audience, for their support.

Up Next: Justin Bieber sang 'You Smile' and 'Baby'. He is very talented. He has a great voice, great look, and is a solid performer. Oh, and he plays the drums.

American Idol Elimination Results Time: Standing next to all three singers, Ryan said, "Dim the lights."
- Casey James; Lee DeWyze; Crystal Bowersox. Without any ado, he pronounced, "The first person in next week's finale is Lee DeWyze. After the votes... Crystal Bowersox was next named to the finale. She asked, "Am I safe?" She said she has a little crush on Casey and that her boyfriend knows.

And it's Casey James who was voted off and is going home. For his swan song, he reprised John Mayer's 'Daughters'. He sang to a little girl, perhaps a relative. He'll be on Ellen's show tomorrow. Ellen interviews all the disqualified contestants the next day.

It might be a close call but I'm expecting Crystal Bowersox to win the whole shebang next week.
