Archuleta's father, Jeff, planned the event in Utah as a thank you to all of the fans that supported his son during season seven's American Idol. The charity concert may be rescheduled after the close of the American Idol Live tour.
According to an article in The Salt Lake Tribune, Jeff Archuleta described the event as more of a "fireside chat with David" rather than an actual concert. The tickets were going to be sold for $1 each through Ticketmaster.
In other David Archuleta news, Archuleta signed a contract with 19 Recordings/Jive Records. Archuleta said in a statement to Access Hollywood, "Signing a record contract with 19 Recordings/Jive Records is truly a dream come true."
It is great to see that David Archuleta has a record deal and strong career ahead of him. For those fans in Utah that wanted to join "Archie" during the benefit concert, the American Idol Live Tour will be in Utah in July.
