Tonight's American Idol result show started with a duet by Lauren and Scotty singing, a country song, "I Told You So." The previous night, Lauren Alaina sang a sweet country ballad version of, "Candle In The Wind, and the judges thought she was amazing. Scotty McCreery had also stuck to his expert country venue and played his guitar while he sang, "Country Comforts." The judges applauded his selection. Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery were told they were the first ones safe tonight by the host, Ryan Seacrest.
Naima and Jacob sang a duet, "Solid," by Ashford and Simpson. Last night, Naima Adedapo followed her reggae heart and sang, "I'm Still Standing." Two judges weren't sure the reggae beat fit the song but Steven admired her decision. Jacob Lusk sang a softer version of, "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Words." He held it back and the judges approved. Jacob Lusk was told he's safe for another week but Naima Adedapo was told she's the first of the bottom three American Idol contestants.
Tonight's special musical guests were season three's American Idol winner Fantasia and Jamie Fox with Will-I-Am. Fantasia dressed in a glittery red gown sang, "Collard Greens and Cornbread," her latest single. Jamie Fox and Will-I-Am sing their duet song to a new upcoming movie, "Rio The Movie."
Hailey, Thia and Pia sang as a trio, "Teenage Dream," by Katy Perry. Last night, Hailey Reinhart sang, "Benny And The Jets." Randy said it was the best performance of the night while Steven Tyler said, "You sing sexy." Thia Megia sang a sweet, "Daniel," in honor of her brother. The judges said good job, but safe. Pia Toscano, a steady ballad singer over the previous weeks, sang, "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me." The judges loved her but said they'd like to see her sing a more up tempo song. Pia Toscano and Hailey Reinhart join the safe contestants to go another week. Thia Megia is the second named as one of the bottom three.
Paul, Casey, Stefano and James formed a band and sang, "Band On The Run." Last night, Paul McDonald sang, "Rocket Man," and judges wanted him to push his voice a little more. Casey Abrams restyled his hair and beard and sang, "Your Song." The judges were all glad they saved him after hearing his version. Stefano Langone sang, "Tiny Dancer," and judges appreciated he kept his eyes open more and connected with the audience. James Durbin rocked it with, "Saturday Night's Alright." The judges said he did a great, hot performance. Casey Abrams, Stefano Langone and James Durbin join the American Idol contestants that are safe while Paul McDonald join Naima and Thia as the bottom three American Idol contestants.

Post a CommentJeanne, the top eleven will al be going on the tour.
I just knew that Stefano would be in the bottom 3 but I thought it would be Naima and Thia who would be booted out. Great recap Claire.
Don't you wish we could get 55 million people to vote at the polls!?! I loved the duets - It's hard to see anyone go home at this point but thankfully they will reunite on tour :) cheers!!!
real good coverage - thank you
I love hearing the duets and trio's etc. I'm very sad Naima is going home. I'm puzzled about who is going on the tour. I thought it was the top ten, but since all the confusion, I hope it is the top eleven.
Thanks for sharing.
