American Idol Rumor Season in Full Swing

Well I guess it was time for it to begin, but I swear the season is beginning earlier and earlier every year. It seems just yesterday we were discussing the winners and losers of last season, along with the highlights and low-lights. Yes, I am of course talking about American Idol, the reality show that has become a pop culture juggernaut, crossing the borders of reality television and music. With my daily surf over TMZ.com headlines, I realized it really is time to start discussing and gossiping about American Idol rumors.

TMZ.com has two stories posted July 31, 2010, about American Idol. A rep for Steven Tyler, who has neither confirmed or denied his guest appearance on the upcoming season of FOX's American Idol, has stated that, "The Aerosmith tour will continue on for its full scheduled run with Steven Tyler", no matter what happens with American Idol. Also, Randy Jackson, who is now the only returning judge to the newest installment of American Idol, almost wasn't, according to this TMZ.com article.

CBS.com is also jumping into the American Idol hullabaloo by reporting that Diddy is sizing up Simon Cowell's judge spot on the hit FOX reality show. Diddy has said that he didn't have much interest in Simon's position on American Idol, but "Once I heard what Simon Makes - I would love the job." That is also a scary statement on the size and gravity American Idol has, and important key role Simon Cowell has played in the rise to that position in American pop culture.

Earlier this week, TMZ.com reported that American Idol has brought back Nigel Lythgoe . That decision apparently led to this slip on So You Think You Can Dance. With the pay check I am sure Nigel Lythgoe is getting for returning to American Idol, I can understand why his mind was elsewhere that night.

American idol buzz was so hot this past week that E! Onlinefeatured the huge American Idol overhaul in their Week in Review section. Is ending up in E!'s Week in Review not the pinnacle of any pop culture career? They were in good company this week alongside LiLo, George Clooney, and Snooki.

Do not forget, if you want even more American Idol news and notes, you can always check Associated Content from Yahoo. Associated Content has set up an American Idol only category, which you can view under American Idol.
