How Did Your Favorite American Idol Contestant Fare This Week?

C.A. Jacobs
Now that American Idol is down to it's top 10 contestants, hopefully we'll start seeing a lot more solid performances. The past few weeks have been a bit spotty with a few bright stars along the way. The top three American Idol performers - Crystal Bowersox, Siobhan Magnus and Casey James - have held tight to the top spots. To see the current American Idol odds to win, click here. The following is a recap of tonight's performances. See how your favorite American Idol contestant did.

American Idol Top 10 Performance Evaluations

American Idol Top 10 - Siobhan Magnus
Siobhan Magnus has been a strong contender each week. Last week she bested Crystal Bowersox, the leader in the odds race to win this season of American Idol. Tonight, Siobhan chose "Through the Fire" by Chaka Kahn as her song selection. Unfortunately, this was a rough night for Siobhan. Her performance was all over the place and she had difficult time hitting the notes on the lower register. Simon's comment, "Sounded like you'd run a marathon and you were singing while totally out of breath. You're kidding yourself if you think that was a good performance." Simon is pretty tired of Siobhan's screaming at the end of her songs.

American Idol Top 10 - Casey James
Casey's been pretty solid holding on to the number three spot. His song choice tonight - "Hold On I'm Coming" by Sam and Dave. Casey received a standing ovation from the audience including this week's mentor, Usher. The judges were pretty favorable on Casey's performance. Kara thinks Casey is still holding back a little and wants to see everything he's got. But Simon felt it was the best performance Casey has had yet on American Idol.

American Idol Top 10 - Michael Lynche
Michael Lynche could be the sleeper of this season on American Idol. He's had pretty consistent performances and seems to be flying just under the radar. Watch for Big Mike to hang in there and challenge the top three towards the end of the season. Tonight, Mike sang "Ready for Love" by India.Arie. Mike chose to perform with his guitar this week and did a wonderful rendition of the song, impressing the judges. Simon said, "I can actually take you seriously as an artist. What you demonstrated is between having a moment or being a karaoke performance. You did a terrific job with it. "

American Idol Top 10 - Didi Benami
Singing "What's Become of the Broken Hearted" by Jimmy Ruffin, Didi Benami did not have her best performance. She over performed and over sang the song. The judges were in agreement that it wasn't up to par. Simon compared her to the singers on a "dancing show" who totally butcher the song.

American Idol Top 10 - Tim Urban
Tim Urban was up next. His song selection - "Sweet Love" by Anita Baker. Tim has been falling to the bottom each week on American Idol but someone out there keeps voting for him, keeping him in the competition. The judges did not like his performance again this week. Simon summed it up by saying, "It doesn't really matter what we say . . . you're going to smile and the audience will vote for you and you'll be here next week. So well done."

American Idol Top 10 - Andrew Garcia
Andrew Garcia chose "Forever" by Chris Brown as his song selection tonight. Battling bad performances since Hollywood week, Andrew finally had a great showing. Andrew still needs to work on stage presence but his vocals are back in the game. Now he needs to work on putting the two together. If he can do that, he can challenge those at the top.

American Idol Top 10 - Katie Stevens
Katie was very nervous meeting Usher, who gave her good pointers about connecting with her audience. Katie chose to sing "Chain of Fools" by Aretha Franklin. Randy, Ellen and Kara loved Katie's vocals. Randy compared her to Christina Aguilera. Simon said the comparison was a stretch. He thought her performance was a bit like someone on Star Search.

American Idol Top 10 - Lee Dewyze
Lee's song selection tonight was "Treat Her Like a Lady" by the Cornelius Brothers. Lee nailed the performance and won the praise of all four judges. Simon said "I've always believed in you, I want you to go back and watch this back and know that this is the point where your life may have changed forever!"

American Idol Top 10 - Crystal Bowersox
Singing "Midnight Train to Georgia" by Gladys Knight and the Pips, Crystal chose to forego the guitar this week and take a seat at the piano. Another strong performance this week by Crystal. She took a risk playing the piano but the change up won the judges over. They all felt her vocals were amazing and that she was in it to win it.

American Idol Top 10 - Aaron Kelly
Closing out tonight's performances on American Idol was Aaron Kelly. Aaron chose "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers. Tyrone Wells does a remarkable rendition of this song, check it out when you get a chance. Tonight, Aaron did a fine job, just not a stand out performance like Lee's. Aaron will more than likely make it through to the next round.

American Idol results show airs Wednesday at 9/8c on Fox.
