Matt Giraud chose former Idol super star Carrie Underwood's "So Small" as his choice. Giraud delivered a very different arrangement. He slowed the tempo slightly and wrung the soul out. He completely made it his own. Not to put too fine a point on it, but Matt was phenomenal. His version is radio ready and sure to be tearing up the iTunes charts. Keeping his blue eyed soul banner safely in place, Girard garnered high praise from Simon who compared him to Michael Buble while Randy continued to drop the moniker of the ever popular Justin Timberlake. These comparisons speak the breadth of Matt Giraud's range. He is sure to make it through to the next round and seems to have his sights set on the finals.
Giraud was equally impressive, last week, with his take on Michael Jackson's "Human Nature". Giraud is a crowd-please. With his sexy soul infused swagger he's definitely set to be a hit with the ladies. One can almost see Giraud sporting a jauntily canted fedora a la JT. To quote my best friend; even his name is sexy. If that's any indication Giraud will be around for a while.

Post a CommentI don't watch the show, but I do know that people can be successful even if they don't make it. A guy from my hometown didn't make the cut last year, but he's signed a record deal anyway. Good article.
Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
He is very talented but Adam will beat him out I think!
Oops, I thought I had seen his video of "Who's Lovin You" on Itunes, but I actually saw it on Youtube... just the song is on Itunes... I've been watching his videos so many places, I get confused! haha
Wow, you guys took the words right out of my mouth. I just have loved Matt since his audition and he has wowed me ever since. And yes Saul, he is the only one I will buy a record from and definitely stand in line for his concert. Have you heard his studio versions on Itunes? I bought them all, even the videos because you have to SEE him perform "Who's Lovin You"... talk about sexy swagger, good lord! Yes, Matt just seems to be the authentic musician out of all of them. I just get chills when he performs. I'd love for him to win, but he's already won as far as I'm concerned and will definitely get a recording contract... with that voice, soulful sound, those looks and all that sexiness, he's on his way!
Agreed; of them all, I like Giraud the best. I think Adam Lambert has the best overall singing voice; And I think Kris Allen may have the most pop potential because of his looks and his voice. But for me, personally, I think Giraud is the one I would go out and buy, pay to see in concert, and actually listen to all the way through on the radio before turning to make sure there wasn't something better on another station...
