After a long drawn out process aired over two nights, the top 24 contestants on season 9 of American Idol have been announced. We can now move on from the bad gimmicks, the tone deaf and the just plain horrible singers and get to the real talent. Besides the large talent pool is this group, Season 9 will prove to be another success as everyone will tune in to see Simon Cowell's last season of American Idol. Plus the inclusion of Ellen DeGeneres as one of the four judges will definitely keep the season interesting.

American Idol Top 24

Didi Benami-Didi auditioned for American Idol by singing "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan in memory of her best friend who had recently passed away.

Crystal Bowersox-Sporting dreadlocks and a rock and roll style, Crystal's good luck charm is her son.

Lacey Brown-This was Lacey's second time facing the judges on the final day of Hollywood week. Lacey had made it to the top 50 on last season's American Idol. She agreed with Simon that she needed that year to make her stronger. This year was her year to make it to the top 24.

Michelle Delamor-Michelle is a music major and auditioned for American Idol with the song "Chain of Fools."

Lee Dewyze-Though not impressing Simon, Lee was able to prove he could compete in the top 24.

Katelyn Epperly-West Des Moines native, Katelyn, 19, auditioned for American Idol in Chicago.

Andrew Garcia-When Andrew decided to use Paula Abdul's "Straight Up" as an audition song, I groaned. Until he started singing and then I was blown away. Paula's song never sounded so good.

Tyler Grady-A throwback to the 70s, Tyler Grady, wowed the judges with his rendition of former American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry's "I'm Going Home."

Casey James-Casey comes to American Idol with a unique blues-rocker style.

Todrick Hall-Trained as a dancer and having never took a voice lesson, Todrick was able to gain a coveted spot in the top .

Aaron Kelly- Only 16, Aaron impressed the judges with his voice and will more than likely win over the tween voters.

Alex Lambert-No relation to last year's American Idol finalist, Adam Lambert, Texas-native Alex is hoping to have the same success that Adam did.

Michael Lynche -While auditioning in Hollywood, Michael's wife gave birth to their first daughter. Not only does he have a touching story, he has a great voice to seal the deal.

Siobhan Magnus-80s rocker Siobhan stepped up her game by impressing the judges with her rendition of Stevie Wonder's "Living for the City."

Paige Miles-Paige was shocked when the judges announced she had made it to the top 24 of American Idol. Simon commented that she was better than she even knew.

Joe Muñoz-Many are anxious to see what Joe brings to the table as he has had very little airtime in Hollywood.

John Park-John already has a fan base on the American Idol message boards and it is growing daily. They call themselves "Park Rangers."

Ashley Rodriguez-Ashley has a strong R&B vibe and definitely has the commercial look to sell records.

Lilly Scott-With a great jazzy sound, Lilly has a great look and a great voice. Though having a tough time during rehearsal on the last day of Hollywood week, Lilly still performed well.

Katie Stevens-One of the younger contestants at 17, Katie auditioned for American Idol in honor of her grandmother who has Alzheimer's. Surprisingly, Simon asked her how her grandma was after Katie found out she was in the top 24. He assured Katie her grandma would be happy.

Jermaine Sellers-Jermaine demanded a hug from Simon after hearing the good news he had made it into American Idol's top 24.

Tim Urban-Tim takes a spot in the top 24 after Chris Golightly was disqualified on Tuesday. According to IMDB, Chris' disqualification came about from a previous old contract. Look for this story to unfold more in the coming days.

Haeley Vaughn-When I first heard Haeley's name, I turned to my daughter and said "Don't we know a Haeley Vaughn?" Then laughingly I remembered-that was Kelly Ripa's character's name on All My Children. Definitely dated myself!

Janell Wheeler-The Orlando resident had a rather sketchy Hollywood week but showed enough potential to make it through to the top 24 of this season's American Idol.

There's your American Idol top 24. Now get ready to vote!

American Idol airs on Fox Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
