American Idol Top 24-Which Boys Will Survive the First Cut?

Rockers, Crooners, and Guitar Players. Who'll Make the Grade?

The American Idol Hollywood shows are over and the Top 24 has been chosen. Next time we see the Idols, they'll be performing on the Top 12 shows. The Boys will sing on Wednesday night. Some contestants will sail through to the next round, while others will watch their dreams brutally end. Which Top 12 Boys will make the cut? The situation with the boys seems more murky than the girls since we haven't heard much from some of them. Here are my predictions.

Andrew Garcia-Andrew had one of the best auditions of all the contestants, and his version of "Straight Up" went viral. He's already got a huge following from his You Tube videos, and the producers of American Idol made sure we saw plenty of Andrew in Hollywood. He'll make the cut for sure.

Michael "Big Mike"Lynche-The show dedicated tons of airtime to Big Mike during Hollywood, including an entire video log of his child being born. If the smooth-voiced guitar player doesn't make the Top 20 it will be a shock.

Casey James-The Texas blues singer was tagged as the season 9 heartthrob when he took off his shirt in his audition. It was reinforced by judge Kara fawning over him during the Top 24 reveal. Fortunately for Casey, he has the voice and guitar chops to back it up. He'll sail through.

Tyler Grady-The leggy retro rocker with broken wrists generated a lot of interest during auditions, but we didn't hear him sing again until his Top 24 reveal. He's cute and judge Kara likes his Jim Morrison moves. Fans of classic rock will vote Tyler into the next round, assuming he doesn't pick the wrong song.

Aaron Kelly-Young Aaron struggled with remembering the words to songs in Hollywood. That aside, he's got a great voice and should be the only pop-country boy in the mix. The younger fans should love him, although Tim Urban could give him some competition in that area. Aaron will survive the first round.

John Park-Why did the producers of American Idol show us nothing of the baritone singer after his fantastic audition? Despite being shafted by lack of airtime, John's good looks and voice should carry him through the first round.

Todrick Hall-Todrick has a good voice, pretty eyes, and can to back flips. Will the fact that he came off as arrogant during the group rounds hurt him? And will Todrick behave like that on the show? He'll probably make it through the first round, but he could also fail.

Lee DeWyze-Lee is hard to figure out. He came off a bit lackadaisical personality-wise in Hollywood, while his singing was okay. Casey, Mike, and Andrew are guitar players too, and they've had more audience exposure. He has some fans from his You Tube videos so he could make it through.

Tim Urban-Last minute replacement Tim has barely been seen, and what little we've heard of his voice hasn't been impressive. He's very good looking, though, so the young fans could make him a serious dark horse. His fate will depend on his performance.

Jermaine Sellers-Jernaine started off with a bang during his audition, but fizzled in Hollywood. His performances were somewhat screechy and Ryan referred to him as a "diva". Whether he makes it or not depends on song choice.

Joe Munoz-Who? Poor Joe has had virtually zero screen time and has fodder ridden all over him. Perhaps he can be the unknown contestant who gets far. Or not.

Alex Lambert-Alex was involved in drama during the group round, but we've heard very little of him singing. I don't think the ukulele helped his cause. He looks like an early boot.

I predict that Joe and Alex will be the first boots, though either Jermaine or Tim could be one of the first to go.
