American Idol's Casey Abrams Health Problems Hits Once Again; Is Idol Killing Casey?
Casey Needs to Sing "I'm Still Standing" by Elton John
This poor contestant has been through the windmill and back. So far Abrams has been hospitalized 3 times for blood transfusions for an internal bleeding problem, latest one being Thursday morning. Let's discuss this issue.
Casey Abrams Health VS. Idol
Abrams has ulcerative colitis. This health condition causes abdominal pain, cramping, anemia, fatigue, rectal bleeding, joint pain and even loss of appetite. This disease causes ulcers in the lining of the rectum and colon, which then leads to excessive bleeding and blood transfusions needed.
Casey performances on Idol have been up and down. I personally don't see anything that special about his singing. Sometimes he can sing, but most of the time he squeals and screams. When he performed "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana I couldn't wait until it was over, Casey destroyed the song bad. Then on Thursday's show Abrams was voted off and saved by the judges, which I definitely think was planned. C'mon do you really believe Casey had the lowest amount of votes? Really?
My question is though, did the judges make the right choice in saving Abrams? I don't think so. I feel they should have saved it for someone who can actually sing like James, Pia, or Stefano. If Casey continues to end up with health issues every week, it's going to kill him in the long run. He needs to put his health first, and I'm sure someone will pick him up. He has a little something people like.
Next week on Idol two people go home. This will make your American Idol top 9. Who's going to take it all the way? A boy or a girl? Will Casey continue on, or will his health put him over the edge? The theme is Elton John songs. Will Casey sing "I'm Still Standing?" after all he's been through so much on Idol already.
For all those Casey fans, tune in next week and make sure you vote. The voting means so much, and you never know who will end up in the bottom 3. If you can not get through, keep calling until you do. If not Casey could be leaving next week. Good luck to all.

I had no idea he was suffering from health problems while on the show. That must be very difficult for him.
Oh, poor Casey! Hope he can get through it while still in "Idol". Hope he gets enough rest but I like him to stay in the show though.....btw, great article! Thanks!

I'm glad they saved him because Stefano and a couple of others def sing worse than he does. I agree about the Nirvana song, it was nice that he tried it but it came across way too angry. I didn't realize he was having all these health problems. Informative info, thanks!
