American Idol's Ryan Seacrest Preps for Proposal to Julianne Hough

Ryan Seacrest is seriously smitten with Julianne Hough. He may even be ready to bow to one knee and ask her to marry him. That's right. The "American Idol" emcee and radio personality is reportedly ready to pop the question to his lady love, Julianne Hough, any moment.

Ryan Seacrest (36), who also hosts the radio program, "On Air with Ryan Seacrest," has apparently already picked out a diamond engagement ring for Julianne Hough, and it is a whopper. Insiders claim Ryan Seacrest's glistening bauble boasts at least four or five carats of ice.

In fact, the not-yet displayed engagement ring Ryan Seacrest supposedly bought for Julianne Hough is said to be "the Rolls Royce of engagement rings." Perhaps soon, paparazzi will begin printing pictures of Ryan Seacrest's giant rock - if Julianne Moore accepts his marriage proposal.

Of course, former "American Idol" judge and "X Factor" producer Simon Cowell recently gave his own fiancée, Mezhgan Hussainy, a six-carat diamond engagement ring. But who's counting?

Who is Julianne Hough?

Julianne Hough (22) is a country music singer ("Is That So Wrong" "My Hallelujah Song," "That Song in My Head," and "Will You Dance with Me?"), actress ("Burlesque"), choreographer, professional dancer and television personality ("Dancing with the Stars").

Raised in a conservative Mormon and reportedly staunch Republican family in Utah, Julianne Hough grew up to study ballroom dancing at the Center Stage Performing Arts Studio, in Orem, Utah.

She went on to win the fourth season of "Dancing with the Stars," performing with Olympic gold medal speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno. Julianne Hough won the fifth season as well, teamed up with Indianapolis 500 three-time champion driver Helio Castroneyes.

As a country music artist, Julianne Hough has toured with such stars as Toby Keith and George Strait. The music video for Julianne Hough's latest single, "Is That So Wrong," was pulled by cable channel CMT (Country Music Television), apparently for its racy content.

Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough, who met in the spring of 2010, have been dating for several months. The courtship seems to have begun in June 2010 and blossomed ever since.

The pair has been spotted and photographed out and about and has reportedly spent many occasions together with each of their families in recent months. Despite their 14-year age difference, Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough seem to enjoy their families' blessings on their potential union.

Although many fans expected Ryan Seacrest to become engaged to Julianne Hough on his own birthday (which happens to be December 24^th, Christmas Eve), this fairy tale timing was not to be. Despite holiday marriage proposal rumors, Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough denied being engaged after Christmas - and even after New Year's Eve.
