The Best
David Archuleta, a seventeen-year-old from Murray, Utah is a heart throb for the teenage voters. Because teenagers tend to vote constantly, phone call after phone call, David Archuleta will end up being this year's American Idol. He does have a great voice and personality. I was a little disappointed when he forgot the words to one of the songs. This did not affect him in the least.
Second Best
David Cook, 25, of Blue Springs, MO has taken songs that I personally did not like and made them incredibly amazing. He really has a true, genuine gift that will bring him a long ways in the music recording industry. When I heard "Billie Jean" I sat back and thought the song sounded so familiar. After listening to the lyrics I was in awe. He created a whole new feel to the song. I truly loved it.
3rd Place Goes To:
Carly Smithson, 24, of San Diego, California will end her American Idol days going out in the top three. For some reason I just do not respect a woman with visible tattoos. It does not set off the right image for my children, but I do understand that it is not a beauty competition. She does have a nice voice but there is something about her that makes me, overall, not like her. Have you ever had the feeling that something is not right about a particular person? I believe she has gotten way too much credit for her performances.
Ending in the Top 4
With her choice of some boring songs and lack of charisma, Brooke White will end her chances in the final four. Her singing performances while playing the piano have been breathtaking, but it just is not enough to keep her going with contestants like David Cook and David Archuleta.
In The Number 5 Spot
Michael Johns of Buckhead, Georgia has not been that memorable to me. With several lackluster performances I may be giving him way too much credit to be in the number five spot. When he did the "We are the Champions" and "We Will Rock You" performance I think he might deserve to be in the top five this year. Whether or not others agree will only be known by the amount of votes he receives in the next couple of weeks.
Number 6
With controversy from another article I wrote, Kristy Lee Cook has what it takes to make it through, but it will be too late for Kristy to make the changes needed to move up in the next rounds.
Number 7
A powerful voice will not be enough to save Syesha Mercado from Sarasota, Florida. She is very pretty and talented but is still not good enough to be considered the next American Idol.
The Worst
I am sorry to have to make a decision on the worst of the top eight contestants. Unfortunately I have to and have chosen Jason Castro. Castro has really lost his sparkle since his first weeks in the competition. I am hoping that he picks some upbeat songs rather than dreary folk-type music. Maybe that will help his ratings a bit. But, for now, sorry Jason, I have to vote for you as the worst.
If you disagree with my rankings, prove me wrong by voting!

Post a CommentI think all of these other people who don't like Carly are SO DUMB because she has a great personality and she could even make it to the top four.
JASON CASTRO has got to go because compared to the others he is not doing good but one person who is would have to be David Cook.He ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you ask me I think david cook has to win it and I also thinkjason castor has got to go!
RE: Sarah "American Idol is a joke if they consider David Archuleta the American Idol over David Cook. Ridiculous." - I couldn't disagree more. Why is it that you can't admit they are both talented rather than belittle David A. and say it'd be ridiculous for him to be the winner of AI? Considering their age difference, David A. has got what it takes and will outsell David C. regardless. He'll only get better as the years go on and he matures. There are too many rocker type guys on the market that are better than David C. - whereas how many 17 year olds have the maturity, personality, talent, and marketability like David A. does? None.
I think people who judge other people based on some ink in their skin are disgusting or I would if I was a judgemental person. I think if the Lord wanted us to judge other people he wouldn't have included that line about 'judging others lest ye be judged' in the bible
I agree, but my prediction leads toward the age of the voters. I think that the majority of teens are voting for Archuleta, but then again, I could be wrong! It also depends on whom the voters sway towards when their favorite idol contestant is voted off.
American Idol is a joke if they consider David Archuletta the American Idol over David Cook. Ridiculous.
My view of tattoos is if the lord wanted you to have a tattoo he would have put one on you i for one think they are disgusting and i agree with Wendy.
What?! Michael Johns at 5? I see him AT LEAST at third or fourth. He didn't make great song selections in the first 2 weeks of the top 12 but the last two performances were amazing. I'm sorry but this is just not the year of the girls and I don't see one making it into the top 3. A guy will take it all. I see two guys in the finale.
As much as I don't like Carly either, your observation that women with visible tattoos are a bad influence on your kids is downright creepy.
