American Idol's Winner is . . .

The Polls Are In

Wendy Alli
After reviewing several David Archuleta versus David Cook polls on the internet, I have tallied the results. Throughout many of the polls, the voters stated their reasons why they are voting for their favorite David. I have compiled a small list of the most popular reasons why the voters chose either David Cook or David Archuleta.

David Cook

Because he's hot.
He is more marketable.
Cook is more talented.
I would buy his album in a heartbeat.
I love how he changes the songs to suit his style.
David Cook is more mature.

David Archuleta

He fits the idol image better.
Archuleta has a beautiful voice.
I like his personality.
He has a unique voice.
Archuleta is humble.
Because Archuleta has a huge "tween" following, they will all vote 50 times each for him.

Out of the many polls I reviewed, here are the results:

David Cook - 59% of the votes

David Archuleta - 41% of the votes

Do I agree with the poll results? Absolutely. David Cook should be the next American Idol. David Archuleta's voice reminds me of a typical Disney performance in Orlando. I mean that in no disrespect. Many say that it really does not matter who wins the American Idol title, but that is far from the truth. If they were pushing for Archuleta and Cook wins, they would be greatly disappointed. One thing is for certain, both will get a recording contract. There is no doubt about that.

In an original article titled, "American Idol's Top 8 from Best to Worst" I had put David Cook in second place during week eight. Within the past several weeks, Cook has impressed me much more than Archuleta and deserves to win the title for season seven. David Cook could change any song written into an awesome collaboration with a God-given talent that he was given. I do not think Archuleta has the same musical capacity as Cook.

I will be very excited to tune into Fox's season finale episodes and will vote for David Cook just as the teens and "tweens" will be voting for David Archuleta . . . more than fifty times.
