American Love: Falling in Love in the United States

American Love: The Curse of Beauty

Heather Inks
He looks upon her,

Enraptured by her beauty,

Her Soul weeps in angst.

[Penned February 8, 2010]

Let not yours be the merely external adorning with elaborate interweaving and knotting of the hair, the wearing of jewelry, or changes of clothes; But let it be the inward adorning and beauty of the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which is not anxious or wrought up, but is very precious in the sight of God. 1 Peter 3:3-4

So beautiful - there are so many people in the world who miss so much because the only see the outward beauty and not what is inside.

Heather, this is just so beautiful. Truly I see the beauty is that which is inward. This is what atracted me to my beautiful wife, she is so beautiful in & outside. Like bees to honey, my honey is sweet. Well done Heather. You're so gifted.

If the one you loved changed physical form greatly... would you still love them? And had they been in different form when you met, would you have given them a chance to be loved by you? Beautiful people are not loved by the admirers-remove the beauty, fame, or fortune-and the admirers (users in the inner circle) flee to find a new host. : ) God bless.

Reminds me of Marilyn Monroe, as well as more modern females who are only accepted for living up to male standards of beauty. This is a good work, Heather!

I like the contrast of what's obviously within one mind unbeknownst to every other mind out there =-)

After reading your comment, Michelle, it brings to mind when Britney Spears shaved her head. I believe this was part of what was going on....

I believe some "beautiful" people go through life never being truly, deeply, sincerely loved by their family, friends or loved ones due to "spell" cast by beauty. The "American" way puts beauty or looks first and the soul last which is lust and not love at all. God bless.
