As a student in the Emergency and Disaster Management program, I can attest to the high level of education offered. I came into American Military University with seven years of emergency management and response experience. When I decided to earn my bachelors degree, I researched many emergency management programs. American military University is one of the few programs that tailored to professionals working in the emergency management and response fields.

This greatly aids emergency management and response professionals in continuing their college education. Many online universities are set in their procedures. They expect the student to serve the university, not the university to serve the student. Flexibility is just one of the features that are earned American military University the academic recognition award.
American Military University strives to provide emergency management and response degree programs, cover a wide range of topics. While studying for my Emergency and Disaster Management Bachelors degree, I will study such topics as psychology of disasters, Incident Command System (ICS), hazardous materials incident response, and even history of explosive ordnance disposal. This wide-ranging education provides graduates with a very base to begin a career.
American Military University is also very active in the emergency management and response community. American Military University's staff and faculty are very active in the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Higher Education Initiative. Federal Emergency Management Agency's Higher Education Initiative works with colleges, across the country, to develop and provide curricula geared towards emergency management and response students.
