Uncle Sam's Smiling Jumbo Chili Cheese Crescent Dogs
"Scrumptious Chili Dogs that fill your tummy and make you Smile"
Serves: 4
Pre-Heat Oven: 350F
Ingredients:
1/2 Tube Crescent Rolls (Pillsbury, Tollhouse, etc.)
4 Hot Dogs (Hebrew National All Beef, Ball Park, etc)
1 Can Chili Beans
1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Optional:
1/4 Cup Diced Onions
1/4 Diced Tomatoes
Condiments:
Ketchup
Mustard
Hot Sauce
Chili Powder
Start by laying out a two triangle of crescent dough on a non-stick surface. One triangle pointing up one triangle pointing down to form a rectangular shape. Sprinkle a line of cheese in the middle of the dough and then a heaping tablespoon of chili beans. Sprinkle the optional ingredients of diced tomatoes and onions in the center. Drizzle on the condiments and then press the hot dog into the bottom portion of the dough and roll towards the top like a burrito. Pinch the ends of the dough together and place on a buttered or coated cookie sheet. Pop in the oven for 10-20 minutes depending on altitude but, keep an eye on those rising buttery crescent rolls and prepare for the scrumptious jumbo chili dog that would make Uncle Sam nikki
smile!
"Patriotic Pizza"
Pre-Heat Oven: 375F
Ingredients:
1 Pre-Made Medium Size Pizza Crust "Digiorno, etc)
1 Package Pepperoni
1 Can Sliced Olives or Mushrooms
2 Cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1 Cup Tomato Sauce
1 Teaspoon Oregano
1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
Place the pizza dough crust on a buttered or sprayed cookie sheet or pizza stone. Take a spoon and spread the tomato sauce on the pizza and sprinkle the garlic powder and oregano on top. Cover with Mozzarella cheese and lay out the pepperoni in horizontal lines, stripe by stripe like an American flag. Two slices in the top left hand corner should be covered in olives or mushrooms like the stars of the flag. Pop into the oven at 375 for 20-40 Minutes depending on crust cook time (see box) watch the cheese melt and when the crust starts to brown take out of the oven. Remove from oven, slice, sprinkle Parmesan cheese and red pepper and serve.
