American Records Highlight 2010 USA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships: Women's Final Results
In the high jump, Chaunté Lowe established an American record of 2.05 meters (6 feet 8.75 inches), surpassing the record of 2.04 meters (6 feet 8.25 meters) which she posted on May 30, 2010 in Cottbus, Germany.
In the javelin throw, Kara Patterson established an American record of 66.67 meters (218 feet 9 inches), surpassing the previous standard of 64.19 meters (210 feet 7 inches) held by Kim Kreiner since May 16, 2007.
Besides Lowe's and Patterson's record setting performances, other athletes produced world and national leading performances. World leading performances included Debbie Dunn's 49.64 in the 400 meters, Jenn Suhr's 4.89 meters (16 feet .5 inches) in the pole vault, and Hyleas Fountain's 6735 points in the heptathlon.
American leading performances included Brittney Reese's 7.08 meters (23 feet 2.75 inches) in the long jump, Erica McLain's 14.18 meters (46 feet 6.25 inches) in the triple jump, and Jillian Camarena's 19.13 meters (62 feet 9.25 inches) in the shot put.
100 Meters (June 25, 2010)
Allyson Felix won the 100 meters in 11.27 seconds. Running into a 2.5 mps headwind, her winning time is the slowest since 1976, when Chandra Cheeseborough won in 11.34.
