American Swing Clubs - Common Rules

Jolie du Pre
You and your spouse have thought about it for a long time. Now, you've finally drummed up enough courage to actually do it. Visiting a swing club can be an exciting and enjoyable activity for a married couple, if you're willing to follow the rules. Here are five of the most common swing club rules.

1. NO MEANS NO!

This rule is a serious one. No reputable swing club will tolerate guests being put in a situation where they are forced to do something they don't want to do. If you are told "no" then that's what that means. Swinging is between CONSENTING adults. That means EVERYONE must be on the same page.

That doesn't mean that you and your spouse should be afraid to introduce yourself to a couple and engage in conversation. That's the way to meet fellow swingers and to make friends. If there is to be sexual activity later on, it will occur because there is a mutual attraction and consensus amongst all of you.

Some swing clubs have open rooms where there may be sex without much conversation beforehand. These are rooms where you take off your clothes and jump right into the action. Does the NO MEANS NO rule not apply here? In a word - NO. It applies in an open room just like it does in a closed room. If you are in an open room and someone touches you that you don't want to touch you - NO MEANS NO. That person must leave you alone.

2. If you take drugs, don't bring them to a swing club.

This is another industry standard for American swing clubs. Drugs are not allowed. Drugs, after all, are illegal and a swing club does not need that type of problem if they want to stay in business.

Alcohol, on the other hand, is legal and you are always welcome to bring your own alcohol to a swing club. Most swing clubs will not sell alcohol.

3. You must be 21 years of age.

Swinging is for adults. At American swing clubs, that means you must be at least 21 years of age to visit.

4. No bisexual men.

Traditional American swing clubs that cater to married couples are perfectly fine with bisexual women. If the female spouse of one couple has sex with the female spouse of another couple - no problem. Two women together is considered sexy and exciting.

However, two men together is considered taboo. So if you are a bisexual married man, check the rules of the swing club. Chances are they will not tolerate two men together. If that is your interest, and you want to attend a swing club, you will need to look for a club that allows it.

5. Leave the camera and the video equipment at home. Don't use the camera on your cell phone.

Most swing clubs will not tolerate the use of camera or video equipment. The privacy of guests is respected and if you take photos or record activity of guests that is not respecting the privacy of fellow swingers. Many people go to swing clubs because their identity can be protected. They don't want naked photos of them popping up on the Internet.
