Americans "Idol"ize Adam Lambert and Kris Allen

Season 8 of American Idol seems to be another hit. Year after year we tune in each week to watch the progression of this live talent show. This year has been no different. The contestants had amazing talent, and we were saddened each week that we had to say goodbye to someone. Now, we are down to the final two, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, and the finale is sure to be on the "must see" list of every Idol fan.

Adam Lambert has been favored to win season eight of American Idol since the beginning. This still rings true as we enter finale week. Lambert is a very talented singer and his performance on stage is amazing. His popularity has consistently grown throughout the show. I know quite a few people who didn't like him in the beginning that have now jumped on board the Adam Lambert rocks boat.

So should Kris Allen just give up? No way! How many times have we seen an underdog come from behind and win? Allen needs to step it up this week and wow everyone with his performances. Giving up is not an option. He made it to the American Idol finale for one reason, he can sing!

Many people love pulling for the underdog and this could give Kris Allen a boost in votes this week. Allen may also benefit by picking up some votes from the fans of Danny Gokey, who was voted off American Idol last week in third place. If this happens, it could cause the contest to be much closer than anyone expects.

When I tune in to American Idol on Tuesday night, I want to see Allen and Lambert giving everything they have in each performance. The one who can keep us entertained, while still blowing us away with their singing, should come out on top in the end. They are both winners no matter how the votes turn out, and winners don't quit.

The lineup for American Idol's finale week has been released and is packed with talented singers. Carrie Underwood returns to Idol for the second time this year, on Tuesday night, performing her cover of Motley Crue's "Home Sweet Home". On Wednesday night, the two hour finale will be hopping with performances by Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, Cyndi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas, Keith Urban, and last year's American Idol winner, David Cook.

So whether your cheering for Adam Lambert or Kris Allen, this week's American Idol finale is shaping up to be another great one.
