Americans Must Come Together to Stop Violence in This Country

American Citizens, Neighbors, and Authorities it is Time to Step Up and Help Stop Violence Now

It is apparent to most all of us that America is a democracy and the land of the free however it appears that is taking second stage to all the violence happening in our country. What happened to safe neighborhoods, protecting each other no matter who we are, where we live, or what our opinion is about anything. Each and everyday on the radio, TV, internet and print news there are more beatings, rapes, shootings, and hatred filled incidents than there is about good neighbors, survival, and peace.

It is going to take more than the current laws to turn this country's way of life around from fear, panic, and violence to times of peace and returning to a time of patience and non-violence. This turn around in non-violence must come from all citizens who help themselves and each other find peaceful ways to deal with the stress, anger, sadness, and frustration economically, politically, socioculturally, and psychologically. How did Americans get to the point that knives, guns, and other weapons were the first option to settling disputes? Many of us remember when the first choice was to walk away and not do anything in anger or frustration. Times when peace and not hurting ourselves or others was the first option.

Our citizens are turning to suicide and murder at younger ages than ever before, why? Are we so busy with our own lives that we do not notice when a those around us are lonely, very sad, or frustrated and may need help before violence happens? Where did all of the neighborliness go in our daily lives? It appears that promoting peace instead of violence rarely gets in the news anymore. Most of us are neighbors but don't even know each other enough to say hello. We can't blame each other for everything because each American must step forward and take responsibility to help this country get back to peaceful neighborly atmosphere that will give each other hope, safety, and peaceful support to help each other get through the stress of life.

Perhaps it is time that we get to know each other share safety plans so that all Americans , those under stress, and those that lend a helping hand will find sensible ways to stop all the hate crimes, needless and senseless shootings, and return to our common purpose as Americans to protect each other. Right now who knows if one of the causes of all this violence is that no one was paying attention to our own families or neighbors who might be having problems or being harassed, or the officer who gave their life to bring peace to others can't get help and dies, or the children and family members who are killed by mistake.

This violence is insane and we must all come together to find peaceful supportive ways to solutions in our own neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, and shopping centers and places fo worship. We can not just keep tolerating violence as a first option, we can't keep blaming everything on drugs, internet, alcohol, or gun laws because this verbal and physical violent behavior is coming from so many different kinds people in America that is killing and maiming innocent neighbors. Please join together to get to know our neighbors, help each other with safety plans for family, friends, and strangers. It is time to return our America to it's purpose of freedom and safety. Please let us help each other to save lives not take them away.
