Americans Under President Bush: What a Tangled Web We Weave

Deez
President Bush just plain old rubs people the wrong way, his inartistic bold and blatant lies and his my way or the highway mentality have gone a long way to turn the American Populous (and the world in general) against him. Lets face it, all politicians lie to their constituents, but a successful politician skillfully employs lies and truth along with some proceived veneer of compromise to obtain his/her objectives. In fact, I think, if you look the word Politician up in Webster's it even defines politician as a creative liar, if it does not...it should. There is no honor and integrity in politics (Integrity...that's a bogus dream) not-now, not-ever and that is the truth. However, a successful politician can sure paint an attractive-rosy picture for all to believe in.

Now, the above may sound cynical to those who don't follow politics, but trust me it's the truth! So, in review lets look at President Bush, his bully tactics and his inability to artfully lie and how it's all come crashing down around him.

First and foremost, lets look at Operation Freedom. Now he started out good, with the will of the American People wanting to kick the butt of anyone with a Muslim connection. He even used the American Facade of Moral Superiority and the facade of freeing people who were oppressed by an evil dictator with some early success. His mistake was being to eager in his rush for control of the Middle east. In his haste, he didn't tie up the lose ends of his faulty intelligence (his ticket to domination). Eventually it came out in the wash...oooppps!

Second, he boldly lied to everyone and kept lying to us all about the WMD's despite very public proof to the contrary. As someone once said, the proof is in the pudding. Bush's problem is the pudding came up empty.

Third, as things after the declaration of the end of Operation Freedom got publicly worse, Bush kept telling us we were not seeing what we were seeing. He was in effect telling use that we were crazy and our own eyes and ears had been lying to us.

Fourth, once people started to doubt why we really went over there, President Bush and his spin-staff attacked anyone that disagreed with him as, "Against the Troops, Terroristic, Unpatriotic and Un-American". That was a slap in the face to all Americans who use their heads and are putting forth an effort to decipher what the truth really is. I don't know about you but when someone slaps me in the face I don't do as the Bible says and turn the other cheek. I tend to become hardened towards the person that slapped me and I retaliate in anyway that I can.

I wonder what would have happened is Bush would have come out and just told the truth. Something like this:

"My fellow Americans, we as a nation have been attacked on our own soil in a most heinous and grotesque manner. The reason for this attack goes back many years. You see, America and her allies, since WWI, have been pushing under developed countries and their peoples around to maintain control of the finite natural resources in these areas. This is called hegemony and we would like to maintain it at all costs. The problem is these people have learned from the tactics (terror) we have employed against them in the past and they are now using that knowledge against us....That being said, we now face some very serious questions. Do we lie down and take it? Do we forsake our way of life or do we fight for what we now have and what we could have (total control of the energy under the ground). I say we fight, I say we take control and maybe, in the process and after all the blood shed, we can recreate these nations in the image of ourselves...This is the truth of it and this is our reality."

Now that would be novel and at the very least, it would be refreshing...no more tangled Web!
