Blueberry Market Economy
Red, White, and Blueberry! Since 1999, July has been celebrated as National Blueberry Month. Nationally, the blueberry growing season runs from spring in Florida to fall in Oregon and Washington. Blueberry festivals are held across America from early June to mid September, with peak blueberry production for America's 21st Century Superfruit around July 4th. Through the blueberry market economy, moreover, benefits for individuals and returns for businesses continue and accrue throughout the year. Growing to greatness from untrammeled wilderness - just as America grew as a nation - America's official blueberry celebration should be the same month of America's Declaration of Independence.

Native born and bred from the wild, lowbush blueberry, America's 21st Century Superfruit Blueberry has been cultivated and marketed commercially less than 100 years. Yet, in that span of growth, blueberries have become a major cash crop for America.

During the first decade of America's new century, blueberry production in America increased by 53% from 2000 to 2009. Lead by Maine, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, and the Pacific Northwest, 35 states produce more than 60% (449,800,000 lbs. or 224,800 tons in 2009) of all the blueberries in the world.

Nationally, less than half the annual blueberry crop is sold as fresh blueberries. Maine, the top producing blueberry state, processes more than 90% of its blueberry harvest to consumers as juice, yogurt, cereal, muffins, and other healthy, nutritional blueberry products.

The value of America's 21st Century Superfruit Blueberry basic, composite, and residual economy is in the billions of dollars.

Blueberry Declaration of Healthy Living and Wellness Independence
Blueberry health benefits are legendary, axiomatic, and growing. From the lore and legends of early Americans to studies and white papers of the 21st century American medical community, the super powers of blueberries are widely told and well documented. Blueberries are a powerful asset for every person's investment in healthy living and wellness. Simply: make blueberries a part of your life and live longer, live better.

Blueberries are infused with superior antioxidant properties and significant levels of key vitamins essential for healthy living and wellness. Blueberries can prevent infection, prevent cell damage, reduce inflammation, lower cancer and heart disease risk, lower cholesterol levels, minimize the effects of age-related diseases, and protect the brain.

Even other superfruit contenders (Acai Berry, Pomegranate, Goji Berry, et al.) agree "...blueberries contain disease-fighting compounds not found in any other food .... And, despite their natural sweetness, blueberries are remarkably low in the carbohydrates and sugar calories overabundant in other fruit."
