Summer is coming soon and many people are going to be traveling all over the United States in search of the best thrill rides at many of the amusement parks across the country. Whether you are going to Six Flags, Busch Gardens, Paramount's King's Island or Cedar Point, many of the amusement parks in the United States open up to the public in April and May to give thrill seekers and roller coaster riders the experience of a lifetime. In fact, many people go to certain amusement parks simply to ride the best of the best roller coaster rides that are known all throughout the country. This year is like any other year where tourists and amusement park fans will be traveling from coast to coast to have their heart pound, adrenaline rush, and mind wander all on the best and most favorable roller coaster experiences that they can get their hands on.

Fastest Wooden Roller Coasters in America

Thrill seekers are always on the lookout for the biggest and the best roller coasters throughout the country. A couple types of roller coaster rides are wooden and steel. Each of these roller coasters have their own standards when it comes to the fastest roller coaster. For the wooden roller coaster rides, a couple of the fastest rides in America are the Son of Beast at Paramount's King's Island, Hades in the Mount Olympus Theme Park in Wisconsin, and El Toro at Six Flags in New Jersey. These wooden roller coaster rides obtain speeds of seventy miles per hour and greater. In fact, El Toro is one of the few rides that has one of the steepest wooden roller coaster drops throughout the world at a seventy-six degree drop.

On the other hand, steel roller coaster rides are known for their greatness also. A couple examples of the fastest steel roller coasters are Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster. Top Thrill Dragster can be ridden at Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio; this is the ultimate in an adrenaline rush for amusement park obsessors. It goes from 0 to 120 miles per hour in only 4 seconds. Once you get strapped on this ride you are in for the thrill and excitement of a lifetime!

Kingda Ka is also one of the fastest steel roller coaster rides throughout the United States and the world. Faster than Top Thrill Dragster, Kingda Ka at Six Flags zooms roller coaster riders from 0 to 128 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds. Amusement park fans who love both of these rides stand in line for hours just waiting to experience the fastest amusement park roller coasters in America.

Aside from roller coasters, however, there are always going to be the favorite rides of amusement park goers all over the world. For example, riding the Ferris Wheel and the Carousel while stuffing your mouth with cotton candy and hot dogs will always be some events that children, teenagers, and adults- young and old alike- love to take part in.
