America's Favorite Food

Kay Whittenhauer
What are America's favorite foods? When I asked ten questions about "your favorite food", a total of 66 people responded over the course of two days. The youngest respondent is nine, the oldest is 70. They're all US citizens or residents. 52 of the respondents are female, and 14 are male.

All the questions were open-ended. (I've never liked surveys where there are five choices and my choice isn't one of them.) Respondents were able to give the answer they wanted, with no prompts.

Many of the totals don't add up- if someone gave two responses, I took two responses. If someone couldn't answer, they didn't have to. So, this isn't a scientific study- it's the answers to five of the ten questions I posted on my Facebook page and in a forum I belong to. The answers surprised me- I'll bet they'll surprise you, too!

It's interesting to see what was chosen as America's favourite food. We always imagine that Americans love burgers and hotdogs and not much else, but I know that there is more to your nation's cuisine than that!

Very interesting survey not sure why steak didn't make the list. But I could eat most of those foods that did make the list.
