"America's Got Talent" Final Four Revealed
Prince Poppycock, Fighting Gravity, Michael Grimm, & Jackie Evancho
The first acts called to the stage are magician Michael Grasso and singer/entertainer Prince Poppycock. Prince Poppycock reigns and is named the first of the four finalists.
It's a little early for intermission, but "America's Got Talent" needs someone to fill in to eat up some time. It sure doesn't take an hour to name four winners. For once AGT does have a special guests that I think I will enjoy as the cast of "American Idiot" takes the stage and sings & dances to a couple of Green Day tunes off their album of the same name. I just wish that AGT would bring back previous winners/contestants to fill in these timeslots. Read more about Green Day's American Idiot here.
Next up on the chopping block are singers Michael Grimm and Taylor Mathews. This is not looking good for Taylor and he takes the bad news as well as can be expected. He tells Nick it's been a great experience to perform on a big stage in front of thousands of people and a long way from playing in coffee shops. Congrats to Michael Grimm for being named the second finalist of season five of "America's Got Talent."
NOW it's time for intermission. Sarah McLachlan plays the piano and sings her latest hit song 'Forgiveness' without the aid of auto-tune.
After Sarah, daredevil Jeremy and singing sisters Christina & Ali are called to the stage. I was correct in guessing that neither one would go through.
Next up are the youngest acts in the competition - opera singer Jackie Evancho and ballroom dancers Anna & Patryk. This is easy as we all know that Jackie has taken over the hearts of America. Yes, she can sing, but is she ready for the big changes that are ahead of her? And what's the difference between her and all the other young acts that the judges and other people say are just too young to take on a schedule that a headline show in Vegas would require? Just asking...
The final acts to go head-to-head for the last spot in the final four are the unique act of Fighting Gravity and dance troupe Studio One. The frat boys and their unique style of defying gravity are on their way to the finals.
So to sum it up, there is one outstanding variety act and three - 3! singing acts in the finals; although I don't consider Prince Poppycock as JUST a singer. Poppycock is a well-rounded entertainer.
Good luck to Prince Poppycock, Fighting Gravity, Michael Grimm and Jackie Evancho who will be going toe-to-toe in the finals of "America's Got Talent" next Tuesday, September 14 at 9 pm ET on NBC.
