The name of the show is "AMERICA'S Got Talent" so why are we seeing so many non-American people auditioning? Maybe I am wrong, but when someone introduces themselves as being from France I take that at face value - that they are actually from France, not America. I guess a lot of people from across the big lake come to America looking for their big break, but there are enough people in America looking for a big break without bringing in talent from overseas. Also, if the judges are looking for something "different" in the acts why can't America's Got Talent be more selective in the talents they let audition? In my opinion, talents that can be on other reality shows (singers/American Idol, comedians/Last Comic Standing, dancers/So You Think You Can Dance, etc.) specific to their talent should not be on America's Got Talent. In addition to that, why not have another America's Got Talent show specifically for ages under 18?
Once again, America (and others) showed their diversity of talents ranging from normal to outrageous to just plain weird and scary. The first act to show off their talent was the 9-year-old and 5-year-old Future Funk dance team, aka B-Boy Bailrock and Baby Boogaloo, that blew the audience away with their funky dance moves. Others showcasing their talents on the America's Got Talent season opener were a Dominatrix Painting Catwoman, 70+-year-old dancer, a Bollywood act, an Adult Cheerleading Squad, a modern circus act called Swingshift Sideshow, the New Directions Veteran's Choir, the unusual Haspop, and singer Michael Grimm.
Swingshift Sideshow on America's Got Talent
This group depicting a modern circus sideshow will leave audiences going "Ewww!" and then asking for more. The acts is both repulsive and intriguing at the same time with long needles being pierced through cheeks and paper being stapled to large breasts using real staples.
New Directions Veteran's Choir on America's Got Talent
The New Direction's Veterans Choir is comprised of previously homeless Veteran's who have turned their life around. They want to let other Veteran's know that it is okay to ask for help if they face hard times in life. I just want to say that it is so sad America has such a thing as homeless Veteran's. But these guys and gals have risen above their hardships and are now trying to help other Veteran's.
Dominatrix Painting Catwoman on America's Got Talent
All this female person had to do was walk on stage and I immediately knew that she would be passed through no matter what. After all, there are 2 guys on the judging panel.
Haspop (the Entertainer) on America's Got Talent
Haspop has been entertaining on the streets of France miming, acting and dancing for a few years for pennies thrown into a hat. He's here trying out for the American dream of making it big in the entertainment business. Haspop's dance routine is very entertaining and so unusual it is hard to explain. Check out his audition for the America's Got Talent judges here. Haspop should be a top 10 contender for the finals.
Michael Grimm on America's Got Talent
Michael Grimm is this year's Kevin Skinner. He sings and plays acoustic guitar, is poor, has a sad family story therefore the audience feels sympathy for him and he gets their votes in the end. Don't get me wrong, I like Michael Grimm, I think he has a great voice; it's just that the same profiles keep reappearing on these reality shows and the networks should quit shoving the sob stories down our throat - let the talent stand alone without the back stories. Check out Michael Grimm on youtube to see how successful he already is.
America's Got Talent airs on NBC.
