America's Got Talent Orlando Auditions

2010 Orlando Auditions for America's Got Talent

Alice Clair Gunkee
America's Got Talent has moved from the Big Apple to hold auditions in Orlando, Florida. The eight Orlando talents that were sent through by the judges to Vegas include (listed in alphabetical order by first name) Elaine Terranova, Jayna Lee, Kruti Dance Academy, Lil Chris, Nathaniel Kenyon, Nick Pike, Twisted Trystan & Krystan, & Wreckless.

Elaine Terranova, aka "Mama T" on America's Got Talent
When this retired 73-year-old dance teacher came on stage in a black sequined tattered looking dress I sure wasn't expecting her to start belting out Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock & Roll." What she lacked in voice she more than made up for in enthusiasm.

Jayna Lee on America's Got Talent
Jayna, 28, performed what she called a Strong Woman Act. She did a backbend and then host Nick Cannon stood on her belly.

Kruti Dance Company on America's Got Talent
This 15-33-year-old Traditional Indian Dance Group hope to succeed in making their dance well known to the rest of the world.

Lil Chris on America's Got Talent
This 12-year-old was definitely comfortable on stage as he sang Stevie Wonder's "Uptight (Everything's Alright)." Stevie would be proud of him.

Nathaniel Kenyon on America's Got Talent
There was no need to ask this 19-year-old if he was nervous; it was showing from every facet of his body. The nervousness was heard in his voice as he sang Matt Nathanson's "Come On Get Higher." But he's getting a second chance to calm himself down and play in front of an even bigger crowd in Vegas.

Nick Pike on America's Got Talent
This 30-year-old cruise ship entertainer does it all. He began by riding a unicycle that was on fire while juggling pins that were on fire - even his hat was on fire. Then he jumped off the unicycle and juggled pins without fire, but oh no! He dropped one! Abiding by his own rule for jugglers of, "If you drop one, I buzz you," Piers buzzed Nick an X. Nick immediately went into performing a little River Dance routine especially for Piers which he had promised to do if he dropped a pin during his performance. Nick then juggled some balls, did a little break dance spin and then while dizzy from the spinning juggled 2 balls and a cranked up chainsaw - all this within 90 seconds! I'd like to see him keep the pace he had going for a full 30 minutes. Whew! He made me tired just watching!

Twisted Trystan & Krystan on America's Got Talent
The judges were cringing behind their chairs and keeping their eyes averted as sideshow performer Twisted Trystan put a sword down his throat and then his assistant put a large drill down his throat while the drill was moving. I don't blame the judges, we all had our eyes averted at home, too.

Wreckless on America's Got Talent
Ranging in ages from 17-26, these young people from Fort Lauderdale have never had any type of professional dance training or even a place to practice at. The self-taught dancers practiced wherever there was an area outside big enough for them to practice in. Wreckless has a lot of energy and raw talent.
