America's Got Talent Season 3 Premiere 2008

This year's America's Got Talent premieres June 17, 2008 on NBC. Hosted by Jerry Springer and judged by David Hasselhoff, Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan, it will be fun to see what the producers have in store for viewers this season.

Watching and speaking with the many talented people auditioning during the Orlando, Florida America's Got Talent auditions, this season should have a great variety of talents. In Orlando, standing in the pitch dark and freezing in mid-January, there were musicians, singers, solo acts, dancers, martial arts performers and many others standing in line awaiting their chance to be seen and heard.

Soon the cameramen appeared, taping several different acts in the large crowd. Surprisingly the crowd was not as large as I had first anticipated. After many cuts by the director and having to scream, "America, We've Got Talent" over and over, the excited, yet nervous crowd headed in for the audition. There with my friend Tommy, who tried his talent out for his chance to be on the show, I anxiously waited in the holding area. In the meantime, cameras were rolling with groups gathered around in a circle to get a glimpse of the possible soon-to-be famous performers.

One negative I heard from some performers at the auditions was that there was no piano available to do a live performance for the judges. According to the audition web site at that time, a Yamaha Motif keyboard was supposed to be available. Some had to rely on homemade videos of themselves performing their talent while others complained that the audition room was too small to perform their dance maneuvers in.

It will be fun to watch the Orlando footage to see the familiar faces as I still wonder who made it onto the show. Do not forget to watch America's Got Talent, created by American Idol's Simon Cowell, on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 on NBC. The first few episodes will be two hours long and will then switch to one hour long episodes beginning the 8th of July. I checked the America's Got Talent web site for some sneak previews but only found that none were available yet.
