America's Got Talent, Season 4 Quarterfinals, Part 3 Results

Lawrence Beamen Dubbed the "new Barry White."

The Quarterfinals round of "America's Got Talent" is gradually approaching an end. Last night (Wednesday, August 18th, 2009), 12 more acts performed. Most of them stupefied us with impressive dancing, singing, and/or visual trickery. One or two acts, however, hit the skids. Overall, they raised the standards by proving that talent in itself is just the beginning; the hard work that comes afterward is what truly defines a performer.

The first two acts to step forward are Bri and Jeffrey Ou. And the winner is Jeffrey Ou. This comes as a complete shock to me, especially considering his lackluster performance the previous evening. Then again, his piano playing was dulled by an unintended technical glitch. I am thrilled for him, but Sharon Osbourne certainly isn't. She exclaims, "I'm lost for words!" Keep in mind that she's the same woman who chose a mediocre dog act over Charles DeWayne Dorsey. So no offense, but go sit on a porcelain British toilet, you hatin' old bitty!

Before moving forward, we must listen to "Highschool Music" star Ashley Tisdale. Again, I must cover my ears-lest they bleed from overexposure to corniness. (Yucky Yucky!) Mind you, I do enjoy watching her skirt across stage in her extra-short mini-skirt. (Yummy Yummy!)

Next up are three acts: Jay Mattioli, Dave Johnson, and Lawrence Beamen. The winner is obviously Lawrence Beamen! Matiolli's paranormal routine was uninspiring, and Dave Johnson's singing tirade was outright banal. Beamen's singing, on the other hand, resonated with pure musical brilliance. He is indeed the "new Barry White." Although thrilled, Pierce Morgan warns Beamen, "You've got to choose the right song."

Up next are Marcus Terrel and the Serenades & Mario and Jenny. The act to move forward to the Semifinals is Mario and Jenny. No shocker here, as Terrell's singing is okay, but generally under-par when weighed against a melodious titan like Mr. Beamen.

As for Mario and Jenny, they brought the fire last night-literally!

As can be expected from any "America's Got Talent" results show, we are forced to yet again tune into another annoying and totally unrelated musical performance. This time, it's Daughtry-another band that I disfavor. In fact, I abhor all bands; I fancy the beats and lyrical mastery of hiphop groups instead. That's just me though!

Only two more positions remain on the Semifinals roster. And competing for one of those spots are G-Force, Euphoria Dance Crew, and Hairo Torres. First to depart is G-Force-a petite band of young rock n rollers. The winner is announced as contortionist extraordinaire Hairo Torres.

The last two acts are Pixie Mystere and Footwork Kings. Once again, the judges-Pierce Morgan, Sharon Osbourn, and David Hasselhoff-are left with making the final decision. They all unanimously agree that it is the Footwork Kings time to shine. Many blessings to Pixie Mystere, but as Osbourne pointed out, they are still children. Ergo, they'll have plenty more chances in life to prove themselves.

Tune in next Tuesday for the last Quarterfinal audition.
