America's Got Talent Shows Off Final Acts Dreaming of Las Vegas for Season 5
Week Ends with Last Chance at Las Vegas Stage for a Last Few Hopefuls
Jimmy Dinn came to America's Got Talent to tell his jokes, but his gags weren't nearly as amusing as the man himself, so judge Howie Mandel encouraged the Vietnamese immigrant to bring more authenticity to his act and keep at it, saying he would even take Jimmy on the road with him! The Belly Dancing Duo has won their ticket to Vegas just by walking onto the stage, but then offered such mesmerizing pelvic gyrations that Piers Morgan said he could watch them "literally for hours". These girls already could dance their way into opportunity on the Strip! A sprite of a violinist brought a hip-hop attitude to her strings, charming herself to straight "Yes" votes, as did Team X Pogo, who did bounce-powered aerials that dropped jaws, then sealed the deal by taking shirts off for Sharon Osborne. DaManiacs were out to prove that big boys can dance, and their entertainment value may have matched the off the scale factor for these guys.
Clownvis came out full of himself and a lot more not fit for print as he sang nursery rhymes in clown face Elvis-style. His act was more tired than your five-year-old's last birthday hire, and his insults went on rapid fire after the unanimous X's from the panel. He had words for all three, but when he started in on Mr. Osbourne, Sharon's claws came out with the warning, " Nobody disrespects my husband!" before firing back some colorful words of her own. Even ever-smiling Howie was moved to expletives for Clownvis! A pair of tap dancing Sarah Palin clones were equally distasteful, but fortunately, less obstinate!
Card-thrower Rick Smith, Jr. amazed with his blade -free precision in chopping celery from Nick Cannon's hand, then slinging a single card straight into the hands of a waiting friend high beyond the balcony! Phil Trau proved that a 74-year-old tap dancer can be good enough to make Piers Morgan retract an X, and one-man band Arthur Nakane took a while to be ready for prime time, but his heart and hard work at least earned him a second look in Vegas.
The moment of the night, however, was held in reserve for young, Luigi Seno, who sang with a beauty and natural ease as he strummed his own acoustic chords that should make Jason Mraz wannabes and Jason himself start shaking a little! He performs like a pro, and throw in a charming smile, and his journey from the Philippines, and you get magnetism multiplied! Luigi levitated from that stage with universal applause. Howie Mandel told him if he had an album out now, he'd be listening to it in his car. Luigi, it won't be long now, so be thinking about all those songs you'd like to cut in the studio!

Post a CommentHmm. If I could pull myself from the History Channel, I might start watching this show. Then, again, I am loving your recaps, so I'll wait for them, instead. :)
Yes, you do the greatest recaps I have read on any TV shows. Nicely done. I can't watch this show because I work 3rd/1st shift.
Nicely recapped and I agree, Luigi stole the show! cheers :)
I love this show and it is getting better and better.
Wonder where the Carlos Eponte audition was . ... he was exhilerating!
From the way the voices sound from the other room - I think America is running out of talent!
Tresa, great update. A well written article.
