"America's Got Talent" YouTube Talents Live in Hollywood, Part 5

Did you vote for your favorite YouTube talent last night?
On Tuesday, August 10, twelve acts chosen from YouTube submissions were given the chance of a lifetime to perform live on the AGT stage in Hollywood. Eleven acts were chosen by the AGT judges and one lucky act was voted through by America. Four of them will be voted through to the semi-finals. It almost doesn't seem fair to the other semi-finalist acts that had to go through all the audition processes to make it to where they are today. Plus, these YouTube acts received access to all the props and background dancers they wanted on their first trip to the stage. But this could open new doors for auditions. Think of the overhead the producers could save by not sending the AGT judges on the road to all those cities looking for new and exciting talents. Their decisions haven't been spot on according to America (just read some AGT forums or blogs) anyway. Personally, my expectations were low before I even began watching these YouTube acts therefore I was not disappointed too much. There were twelve acts that performed and it wasn't until the ninth act took the stage that there was something worth watching. Thank goodness for DVR.

PLUtonic on "America's Got Talent"
PLUtonic is made up of some geeky dressed guys in blue plaid sweaters with yellow bow ties sporting old Drew Carey black framed glasses singing in a cappella Flo Rida's "Low." No, no, no.

Dylan Plummer on "America's Got Talent"
This young guy combined jump rope and dance but I didn't see him do anything any 12-year-old girl on the playground couldn't do.

Pup on "America's Got Talent"
I wasn't sure if "Pup" is the dog or the older man crooning while strumming a guitar. Either way it all went back when the dog broke his leash. At least he didn't go running around the stage after he broke loose. Suggestions made by the judges sounded like the dog was supposed to play an accordion that was tied to a post on stage. Sure he was.

Cam Hodges on "America's Got Talent"
Cam is yet another singer, but he doesn't hold a candle to any singer that has already been sent to the semi-finals.

Ryan Rodriguez on "America's Got Talent"
Ryan is a martial arts dancer who cannot fill a stage all by himself, or with the extras he was given to play with. There was nothing new and exciting in his dance.

Austin Anderson on "America's Got Talent"
Austin, a stand-up comedian who had never put 90 seconds of material together before, bombed big time with his lame jokes about Facebook.

Booker Forte on "America's Got Talent"
Booker was another dancer that tried to fill the stage all by himself. Haspop is the only dancer I have seen that can do that.

Pizza Patt on "America's Got Talent"
What would you expect from a guy that goes by the name of Pizza Patt? Patt threw pizza dough while wriggling around on the floor, and even threw one that was set on fire. It was just another form of juggling with different material which you can see in any pizza window walking down any big city street.

Kristina Young on "America's Got Talent"
Finally - something worth listening to. Kristina was tolerable as she took Carrie Underwood's "Before HE Cheats" and will probably make it to the semi-finals considering her competition from the 12 YouTube acts.

Maestro Alexander Bui "America's Got Talent"
This 16-year-old can play the piano but I have seen and heard better from younger children on Ellen's show. But, again, he will probably go to the semi-finals considering the competition he's up against.

Dan Sperry on "America's Got Talent"
Dan is a magician who made Howie leave his seat and run away and had Sharon rolling on the floor with laughter. Actually, I think it was Howie that had Sharon laughing uncontrollably. First Dan, who looks like he could be from a Tim Burton film, makes a dove appear in place of the white mask he was wearing. Ho-hum. Then he chews a lifesaver breath mint all the while getting closer and closer to the judges table, then makes some dental floss pass between his neck and pops the lifesaver out hanging on the dental floss. As the judges and the audience are looking with their mouths dropped open, he then proceeds to toss the used dental floss in Howie's direction. I've never seen anyone move so fast! And apparently neither has Sharon. She got so tickled over Howie that she had a hard time controlling her laughter. Dan should definitely be in the semi-finals.

Jackie Evancho on "America's Got Talent"
Jackie was chosen by America to perform on AGT and once again America proves they have better judgment than the AGT judges. When 10-year-old Jackie started singing opera it was hard to believe that she wasn't lip singing. The big operatic voice coming from such a small body is hard to comprehend. As the winner of America's YouTube votes, Jackie and her family will receive a trip to Universal Studios in Orlando where they will stay at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Tune in Wednesday, August 11, at 9 pm ET on NBC to see who America voted for in the results episode. The top 4 vote getters will go on to perform in the top 24 in the second round of eliminations. Special guests will be "Evolution of Dance," "Lin Yu Chung" and "Quick Change," all of whom have viral videos on YouTube. Then tune in Tuesday, August 17 as the judges give their favorite 12 acts that did not make the cut from the Top 48 a second chance to go further in the competition.
