John Walsh is a modern day hero and has changed the way America fights back!

John Walsh is a modern-day hero. He took a tragedy in his life, and he (and his wife) turned it around and in doing so, helped to bring thousands of victim's stories to light.

In 2008, Fox News broke the story of how John's son's suspected murderer, Ottis Toole, was announced to be his son's killer. Police Chief Chad Wagner told the press 'the serial killer who died in jail in 1996 was the man who kidnapped and decapitated John's young son, Adam Walsh.' (Fox News)

At the time, some viewers thought that perhaps John Walsh would retire, but his fight lives on.

In his sons honor, John Walsh's name has been synonymous with righting the wrongs when it comes to kids and especially crime. 2. fingerprinting programs for the protection of children,

3. increased security at schools and stores

4. the creation of missing persons units at every large police department

5. Amber Alert system

6. Adam Walsh Child Safety and Protection Act. This act helps keep sex offenders behind bars. President Obama has promised to continue funding Adam Walsh Law.

7. Other Resources:
Oprah Winfrey's Child Predator Watch List, and SearchHelp allows people to search for known offenders in their neighborhoods.

John's continued drive and networking for justice has helped many causes and brought many cases to closure. He is a modern day real life hero!
